I thought Peter Pan was a myth and Neverland a fairy tale. A story spun by my mother who had lost her mind a long time ago. But there was no denying the overwhelming shadow cast by Peter Pan when he was standing in my house.

I have few friends and fewer allies. What I do have on the island of Everland is a lot of people who want me gone. So when the Crocodile and Captain Hook reappear in my life, I am in no mood. One of the scariest vampires in Midnight Harbor loves me. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but I'm not going to look too closely at it. Not when secrets are coming out about my past and a rival vampire is hellbent on not only possessing me, but my sister too. If I want to survive the secrets and plotting, I'm going to need Bran Duval by my side. Having him in my bed is just a bonus.

As my Pledge draws nearer, and more secrets come out, I can't help but wonder: Who am I? Or better yet, what am I?

I finally know the truth of my identity: I am not human. And it’s time I stop pretending that I am. If only I could control these rare, unique powers long enough to defeat my enemies. Because the fae gate is now open and the entire fae realm thinks I’m the villain.
