Wyle and his adventuring band of beautiful ladies settle in to their new home. Their town has a new name, new residents, shops, allies, and more! When a domineering Noble Ranger shows up to grade the Gloomy Forest’s dungeon, Wyle immediately starts searching for ways to keep her around. Not all is well, however. An attack on one of his wives sends Wyle into full alert. He finds himself untrusting of the new arrivals that might help Emerald Valley become a true castle town.

He hopes to destroy Captain Charles’s army and take Queenstown in one smooth stroke, but the Captain has a plan of his own. Before Wyle’s people can truly live in peace, they need to become strong enough to prevent further threats. They have access to more dungeons than ever, but with an ever-increasing army to train, Emerald Valley’s resources are stretched thin. And there are more mysteries beneath the mountains than Wyle ever considered.

Wyle will need to juggle his town’s needs, with his own and his wives’, while fending off new threats from a King’s Hand, and the families of a fallen dungeon party.

The Diplomat sent by King Griffin is more monster than man. He serves as an intermediary between the King and his inhuman allies. After taking up residence to the west of Emerald Valley and holding Yan and Shareese hostage, the man sends Wyle his demands.

Despite being instrumental to the defense of Aether Academy, Jacob Pratts identity as a Shadow and a fraud lands him in prison. Jake will stand trial under Theid's replacement, Headmaster Doriah. She's ready to make a name for herself as the school begins to rebuild, and that means making an example of the Shadows and Knights who were captured during Aether Academy's assault. There are two options: exorcism and execution. Will cutting him off from the dark god Vethris be enough, or will the school decide to put Jake down for good?
