'In a Nutshell', the new audiobook series from Naxos AudioBooks, continues with a fascinating history of Afghanistan. For centuries it has been the playground of big powers, from Alexander the Great to the British Empire and the Soviet Union. It has been torn by internal strife and ideological differences, yet Afghans, tribal though they may be, remain a proud nation. Here is a short history, setting the background to the current situation.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit covers three important states – Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin – and multiple major metro areas, including Chicago, Indianapolis, and Milwaukee. It handles a wide variety of cases and is home to a prominent and thought-provoking cast of judges, so there’s rarely a dull moment in CA7’s Dirksen Federal Building. Hosts Kian Hudson and Mark Crandley of Barnes & Thornburg track what’s going on in the Seventh Circuit, highlight interesting cases, and read between the lines of notable opinions.

Trust in our culture at large, in our institutions, and in our companies is significantly lower than a generation ago. In any normality trust is paramount, but given current world events, never has there been more need for increased trust. This simple formula emphasizes the key elements of trust for individuals and organizations.

ICU Life and Recovery Podcast

We will hopefully cover all things ICU not just from the patient perspective but also for the numerous fields involved in caring for a patient in ICU as well as helping them recover afterwards. Myself and any guests I have will speak as candidly about our experience in ICU regardless of what side of the experience we come from. My hope is this will dispel any myths or misunderstandings on what it is like to be in ICU. I was in ICU for 3 weeks, 2 1/2 in a medically induced coma, I suffer from Sepsis and ARDS while in ICU and a whole host of psychological and physical issues afterwards.
