Words are so important in our lives. The words we speak to others, or the words spoken to us are powerful tools that can chart the path we travel. This is true of both positive and negative words. Words can bow us down or lift us up. Our words are a product of our thinking and a consequence of how we see ourselves and how we engage the world around us. This book of poetry is a collection of fourteen poems designed to change our thinking and the words we speak to ourselves and to others. It is my hope that this book of poetry speaks to you in a unique and compelling way.

Leo Tolstoy is one of the most celebrated novelists of all time. As well as writing literary classics such as Anna Karenina and War and Peace, he was also the author of some hugely influential critical and philosophical works. First published in 1898, his book-length essay What is Art? has lost none of its power to challenge our perception of art and its function in society today.

Apples of Gold is a collection of twenty eight poems meant to inspire and uplift, and offer encouragement for Christians. It is written with the spirit to edify and perfect the faith of those who have been walking with God for a while and those who are new to the faith. In addition, I hope this poetry speaks to others who have not initiated a relationship with the Lord. Just as my first two books, Words Fitly Spoken and Words Fitly Spoken Book Two spoke of God’s mighty power, his faithfulness and his tender loving care for us, Apples of Gold continues along the same vein.
