When Luke Bennet wakes in a world where time flows differently than it does on Earth, he discovers his family, gone missing over the last year, has been dead for a hundred years here. But Nym is badly injured by one of the wights, and suffers a matrix destabilization, rendering him unable to perform magic. To make matters worse, the mysterious Collective is on his tail.
