In looking at identity it is overwhelming to know who you are when others are telling you who you are not. The ability to articulate your own understanding of who you are is liberating and undoubtedly scary at the same time. As women begin the process of self-identification, there is a sense of fear that says, “Are you ready to go against the grain?” Beloved, this book you hold in your hands is designed with you in mind. You were created to make the not good, good.

There is a place in God where pain and peace are co-located. Reconciliation happens when we allow the healing power of God to erase our reasons to stay stuck, which fuel our resistance to seeking help. Faith creates the space for healing release. A hurt that has not been dealt with has no timeframe for healing. Your healing journey begins today.

Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people? Was there ever a time when you were in a good place in your life and out of left field, a calamity happened? Have you ever been so broken from the trauma in your life that words could not explain how you were feeling? How did you manage your emotions when trauma collided with your faith because of someone else’s choices? What did you say to God? What questions did you ask yourself as you wrestled with your faith?

In "What the Trump?" Rev. Dr. A'Shellarien Addison showed us the pendulum swing of political division and the hope for unity. Now, in "The Wounded Follower," she reveals the hidden psychological and spiritual wounds that make that pendulum swing so violently—and shows us how to heal. Dr. A'Shellarien poses questions like: Why do some people need their political leaders to be saviors? What makes ordinary believers become political zealots? How do we bring our loved ones back from the brink?

In a time when political divisions seem insurmountable, acclaimed author and spiritual trauma-informed counselor releases a transformative new book that speaks directly to Trump supporters looking to build bridges of understanding across the political spectrum. This book takes a refreshingly honest and non-judgmental approach to one of America's most challenging political conversations. Rather than adding to the discord, this groundbreaking work provides a framework for meaningful dialogue between Trump supporters and those with different political views.
