Attending to the affairs of his late uncle, a man pieces together disturbing notes, articles, and horrendous carvings of a nightmare beast on stones neither of which are from this world. It propels him on a world-wide search that culminates with the discovery that dormant, great, elder beings who seeped to Earth before humanity's dawn are stirring in their sleep and will rise to re-exert their dominion over the world at the expense of humans and their civilization.

Doug Bradley's Spine Chillers, Volume 2, presents four classic stories from the masters of horror literature. It kicks off with Charles Dickens' friend and collaborator Wilkie Collins' eerie tale of a man's dream of his own murder that comes too true, 'The Dream Woman'. It is the only story written by Lovecraft in which the extra terrestrial entity Cthulhu himself makes a major appearance. It is written in a documentary style, with three independent narratives linked together by the device of a narrator discovering notes left by a deceased relative. The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath is a novella by American writer H. P. Lovecraft. Begun probably in the autumn of 1926, the draft was completed on January 22, 1927 and it remained unrevised and unpublished in his lifetime. It is both the longest of the stories that make up his Dream Cycle and the longest Lovecraft work to feature protagonist Randolph Carter. Along with his 1927 novel The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, it can be considered one of the significant achievements of that period of Lovecraft's writing.

"The Nameless City" is a haunting tale of cosmic horror by H. P. Lovecraft, first published in 1921. It follows an intrepid explorer who ventures deep into the Arabian desert in search of a lost, ancient ruin—a city so old that it predates all known human civilizations. Howard Phillips Lovecraft (August 20, 1890 - March 15, 1937) was an American writer of weird, science, fantasy, and horror fiction. He is best known for his creation of the Cthulhu Mythos.
