Wovon ich heute berichten möchte, hatte sich im Spätherbst des Jahres 1896 ereignet. Die Geschehnisse fanden im Londoner Sankt-Lukas-Hospital für Geisteskranke und in der kleinen Ortschaft Castle Hedingham statt.

Von was ich heute berichten möchte, handelt um einen Meeresgott, aber nicht etwa um den römischen Gott Neptun oder dem griechischen Wassergott Poseidon, nein, es handelt sich um den Meeresgott Dagon, eine Abscheulichkeit, wenn man den Berichten Glauben schenken möchte. Ich meinerseits denke da eher an Fabeln und Mythen, wobei der Mensch selbst zu den größten Abscheulichkeiten fähig ist – noch dazu, wenn man im Namen einer Gottheit Menschenopfer zelebriert.
