'Young Adult Classics' is a new series from Naxos AudioBooks which aims to bring key works of literature to a young audience in abridged form. Lively, accessible readings with music is the key. Jane Eyre is the tale of a young governess who becomes entangled with the powerful Mr Rochester, finding mystery and uneasiness in his house.

Jane's love for Mr. Rochester is sorely tested when the mystery of the occupant of the attic is uncovered. Also included are two special features: an excerpt from "The Life of Charlotte Bronte" by Elizabeth Gaskell and "A Brief Visit to the Bronte Parsonage" by our narrator, Flo Gibson.

Orphaned at an early age, Jane Eyre leads a lonely life until she finds work as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets the mysterious Mr. Rochester and sees a ghostly woman who roams the halls by night. The relationship between the heroine and Mr. Rochester is only one episode, albeit the most important, in a detailed fictional autobiography in which the author transmuted her own experience into high art.

Charlotte Brontë (21 April 1816 - 31 March 1855) was a British novelist, the eldest of the three famous Brontë sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature. Charlotte Brontë, who used the pen name Currer Bell, is best known for Jane Eyre, one of the most famous of English novels. This audiobook collects together ten of her best works of poetry, first published in the collection 'Poems by Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell' in 1846.

The Professor, the first novel that Charlotte Brontë completed, is based on her experiences as a language student in Brussels in 1842. Told from the point of view of William Crimsworth, the only male narrator she created, the work questions many of the presuppositions of Victorian society.
