One of Britain's most prolific authors, Horowitz is known for his children’s fiction, such as the Alex Rider series, his mystery novels including Magpie Murders, as well as being a screenwriter and creator of series such as Midsomer Murders and BAFTA winning Foyle's War. We’ll be chatting with Anthony Horowitz about Close to Death, the fifth installment in his Hawthorne and Horowitz detective series. We will be asking how Horowitz how he decides when he’s got a good idea, what the move from children’s to adult’s fiction was like, and why he chose to write a series with himself as a character.

Joining us at Audible Studios is sleep expert and Professor of Circadian Neuroscience Russell Foster. He’s created a book called Life Time which looks in detail at how sleep and our body clocks are essential in building optimum routines for a healthy body and mind, and why we need to escape the trappings of the 21st century such as high-level stress and artificial light. Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her debut novel, Killing It, is British author Asia Mackay. From working as a presenter and TV producer in Shanghai to project management for Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s motorbike documentaries in London, Asia Mackay’s debut comedic thriller published in 2018, Killing It, looks to make a mark in the world of espionage fiction.

Asia Mackay talks to us about her protagonist, Lex Tyler, her own experiences as a working mum that made it into the book and how she juggles her family life with her new career.

Rinder was called to the Bar in 2001, beginning a pupillage at 2 Paper Buildings before moving to 2 Hare Court as a criminal barrister. Rinder has worked on cases from fraud to murder, and money laundering to political corruption. Having approached ITV with a television script, written in his spare time, he was asked instead to be the face of a British Judge Judy-esque show, thus Judge Rinder was born.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness, an American hairdresser, television personality and podcaster. Van Ness was born in Quincy, Illinois, and has been openly gay throughout his life. In 2013, Van Ness was dressing the hair of a friend, Erin Gibson, who asked him to recap his webcast, Gay of Thrones, on her show, Funny or Die. From this, his Gay of Thrones series garnered more attention, and in 2018, it was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series.

Joining us at the Audible Studios is veterinary surgeon and presenter Noel Fitzpatrick. Perhaps better known as the Supervet, he has now penned an autobiography - Listening to the Animals: Becoming the Supervet. He speaks to us about his memoir, which shows his journey to becoming the Supervet from the very beginning. We see every twist and turn on his route to Surrey and opening his world-renowned veterinary practice, his extremely successful television show, The Supervet, and the personal experiences that come alongside working with sick and injured animals.

After beginning a career in psychiatric nursing, Jo Brand moved to the alternative comedy stand-up scene with early performances on Saturday Live and later appearing in the likes of The Brain Drain and Jo Brand Through the Cakehole. Brand is the author of four novels and is currently the presenter of The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, and her latest book, Born Lippy, was published in October 2018.

Saad grew up for the first few years of her life in Wales and now lives in Qatar in the Middle East, with her husband and two children. Saad's main motivation in life is to become a 'good ancestor'. This personal mission has influenced the writing of Me and White Supremacy, and Saad hosts a Good Ancestor podcast, in which she interviews guests from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds.

Cummins worked in the publishing industry for 10 years before becoming a full-time writer. Her first book, A Rip in Heaven, is a memoir about her two cousins being murdered and the attempted murder of her brother. Cummins used the book to deal with her grief and portrays the lives of the victims and their families. She went on to release two fictions novels. Her newest release is American Dirt, a novel which looks at the plight of migrants, as a mother and son desperately attempt to escape a cartel in Mexico by fleeing to the United States of America.

Phelps-Roper married Chad Fjelland in 2016, and together they have a daughter. Phelps-Roper is no longer a practicing Christian. Since leaving the Westboro Baptist Church, Phelps-Roper has lobbied to overcome divisions and hatred between religious and political divides. In 2017 she presented a TED talk discussing her experiences of being raised within the church and about her journey towards leaving. This year, Megan Phelps-Roper has written a book, Unfollow, sharing her inside look at the church and the families within it.

Joining us at Audible Studios is television presenter, author and teaching fellow Emma Dabiri, who has published her first book, Don't Touch My Hair. This book is all about why black hair matters and how it can be seen as a map of decolonisation. Dabiri takes us through the significant times, from pre-colonial Africa through the Harlem Renaissnace and Black Power and on to today's Natural Hair Movement.

Prof Steve Peters visits Audible to discuss his latest book, The Silent Guides, which draws on what we learnt from his best seller The Chimp Paradox. Steve Peters is an English psychiatrist who has worked with the British cycling team and other sports people, as well continuing to work in hospitals and setting up his organisation Chimp Management. In The Silent Guides, listeners will learn about 'neuroscience and psychological aspects of the developing mind, unconscious thinking, behaviours, habit formation and related topics in an easy to understand way'.

Coming to prominence in the mid-'60s as the founder and lead singer of rock band The Who, Roger Daltrey has had an iconic career spanning more than 50 years. Famed for his stage presence and powerful voice, Roger has also carved a solo career as well as an acting one. His memoir, Roger Daltrey: Thanks a Lot Mr. Kibblewhite, was published in October 2018. Roger Daltrey talks to us about the time he was chucked out of The Who, making his own Fender guitar and discovering he had three more children after his 50th birthday.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book and autobiography, A Better Me, is lauded British singer, songwriter and record producer Gary Barlow. Best known as the lead singer of British boy band Take That and head judge of The X Factor UK from 2011-2013, Gary Barlow is one of the UK’s most successful songwriters, with 14 number one singles, 24 top 10 hits and three number one singles as a solo artist. Gary Barlow’s official autobiography, A Better Me, was published in October 2018.

Hamilton has created some of science fiction’s most vast and extensive universes, making him one of Britain’s biggest selling sci-fi authors. Known for The Night’s Dawn trilogy and the Commonwealth Saga in particular, Hamilton embarks on a new universe, publishing Salvation, the first book in a brand-new trilogy, in 2018.

The writer and illustrator behind many of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld subsidiary works and merchandise, Stephen Briggs, who also classes himself as a ‘civil servant who dabbles in amateur dramatics’, has provided the voices and narration of Discworld and its characters in more than 20 audiobook recordings both in the UK and in the US.
