Solicitor-turned-author Sarah Haywood joins us in the Audible studios to talk about her debut novel, The Cactus, a story of a control freak losing control. Sarah discusses the highs and lows of becoming a published author, turning her back on law to pursue a novel and how her own life influenced the book.

Joining us at a riverside London hotel is Dame Julie Andrews, DBE, an English actress, singer and author. She has now released her second memoir, Home Work. Born in Surrey in 1935, Andrews parents divorced and she originally lived with her father, then moved back to live with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather was turbulent, but he sponsored her voice lessons, and from 1945 Andrews began performing with her mother and stepfather unbilled.

Selling out the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006 with Asylum Speaker was where Shaparak Khorsandi made a name for herself and she has gone on to perform worldwide. She has appeared as a regular panelist on shows. Her writing career began with her bestselling memoir, A Beginners Guide to Acting English which looks at her childhood as her family fled Iran. Since then she has written a novel, Nina Is Not Okay, and young adult fiction, Kissing Emma. We'll be chatting to Sharapak Khorsandi about her new memoir, Scatter Brain, which takes us through her life with lens of now knowing that she has ADHD.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Dan Abnett, British comic book writer and novelist, who has contributed to series for Marvel, DC Comics and Games Workshop's Black Library. Abnett is one of the Black Library's main authors, and certainly one of their best sellers. Writing within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Abnett has authored infamous series such as Horus Heresy, Gaunt's Ghosts and Eisenhorn. Abnett has also written prolifically for Marvel and DC, as well as 2000 AD.

After publishing his first book, The Hunter, in 2010, Tom Wood has gone on to write seven more titles within his Victor the Assassin series, which features his cold assassin antihero, Victor. He has now published the exciting eighth installment, Kill for Me. Tom wood talks to us about his latest book, his infamous antihero and the supporting characters he loves to write.

Joining us at Audible Studios is author, journalist and economics and politics commentator, Grace Blakeley. We’ll be chatting with Grace Blakeley about Vulture Capitalism, her latest book which exposes corporate crimes, reveals the truth of the free market and demonstrates the issues with capitalism. We’ll find out how everyday people are being forgotten while the uber-rich are benefitting, and how we, as everyday people, can take control back.

Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham both live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they met through mutual friends and began writing and gaming together. Having already built the world of The Expanse for a game (it was initially created for an MMORPG pitch), the pair set out on a task to bring the world to life through fiction. Their first novel, Leviathon Wakes, was published in 2011 and was nominated for the 2012 Hugo Boss Award for Best Novel and the 2012 Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.

Alongside her academic position at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at UCL, where her research into the patterns of human behaviour can apply to a huge range of social problems, Fry’s expertise has also led to the development of several BBC documentaries including City in the Sky and her long-running BBC Radio 4 show, The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry. Her latest book, Hello World, was published in September 2018.

Joining us at Audible Studios is award-winning DJ and British Broadcaster, Adele Roberts. Best known for her work on BBC Radio 1, Roberts has regularly hosted breakfast shows on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2, and is a common feature on the live lounge. In 2021, Roberts received a stage 2 bowel cancer diagnosis, and underwent surgery to remove the cancer and create an ileostomy. Roberts has been deliberate in staying positive and open during her treatment, in the hopes of inspiring others. We'll be talking to Adele Roberts about Personal Best, her guide to getting back on track.

A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and scientific director of the Foundational Questions Institute, Tegmark cofounded the Future of Life institute and has been instrumental in advising on AI research. Bardugo is best known for creating the Grishaverse, a world in which several of her book series are set, the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the duology, Six of Crows among others. Bardugo has also written short stories, and her first adult fiction title was The Ninth House, which tells of the secret societies in Yale, the university Bardugo herself attended to gain her English degree. Bardugo's novel Hell Bent is the second book based at Yale university, and again follows protagonist Alex Stern, who gained her place at Yale with the help of a mysterious benefactor.
