Homer is one of the most important figures in ancient Greek literature, believed to have lived in the 8th century BC. Und genau wie Homers antikes Meisterwerk verspricht die kölsche Übersetzung zumindest im Rheinland zu weltliterarischem Ruhm zu gelangen. Nach der Vorlage von Johann Heinrich Voss wurde der Klassiker von Stehling brillant übersetzt und bisweilen urkölsch und urkomisch eingesprochen.
