Ich stieß auf die Weltkarte in einem Reiseführer aus den 1970er-Jahren, und mir war auf Anhieb bewusst, dass sie dort nicht hineingehörte. Vermutlich hätte ich sie nicht weiter beachtet, wäre da nicht diese Notiz am Rand gewesen. Und da, wo die Umrisse des afrikanischen Kontinents zu erkennen waren, stand ein weiteres rätselhaftes Wort: XULHU. H. P. Lovecraft was influenced by Edgar Allan Poe and Lord Dunsany's fictional works, and eventually, his stories and books became as good as, perhaps even better than theirs.

Narra la historia de una expedición al antártico y del horrible secreto que en él descubren: una inimaginable cadena montañosa bajo la cual se extienden las ruinas de una complejísima y olvidada civilización no humana. Dos miembros de la expedición se internarán en las ruinas para desentrañar sus secretos, ignorantes de lo que les espera bajo el hielo antediluviano.

Herbert West, who is a medical student and later qualifies as a doctor, becomes obsessed with the possibility of reanimating corpses. Unfortunately, the revived subjects do not adapt to reintegration into society. West himself eventually becomes the victim of one of the homicidal zombies.

Lors d'une expédition en Antarctique, une équipe de scientifiques de l'Université de Miskatonic découvre avec stupéfaction l'existence d'une chaîne de montagnes aux dimensions défiant l'imagination. "Azathoth" is the beginning of a never-completed novel written by American horror fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was written in June 1922 and published as a fragment in the journal Leaves in 1938, after Lovecraft's death. It is the first piece of fiction to mention the fictional being Azathoth, one of the major entities in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, though the entity only appears in the title.

Written in the summer of 1926, it was first published in Weird Tales, February 1928. It is the only story written by Lovecraft in which the extraterrestrial entity Cthulhu himself makes a major appearance. It is written in a documentary style, with three independent narratives linked together by the device of a narrator discovering notes left by a deceased relative.
