Peacetime can be a rough adjustment for the battle-hardened Merry Band of Pirates.

Especially when aliens don’t get the memo that the shooting is over.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Children are not supposed to rescue their parents, life is supposed to be the other way around. And rescues aren't supposed to be needed on the trip out to the new colony planet Valhalla. Slow, yes. Boring, yes. Dangerous? No, the trip is not supposed to be dangerous, never has been. When thieves attack the transport ship to steal an ancient alien artifact, and young Kaylee and her brother, Manny, are cut off from their parents, they have to stop the thieves from getting what they want.

After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least. After there was trouble on the home front and the president had to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city, UNEF decided they did need the Merry Band of Pirates again. So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

"Walkiria” i "Latający Holender” powracają na Ziemię po długiej i dramatycznej misji. Wesoła Banda Piratów zdobyła potężną broń Pradawnych, dzięki której ludzie mają szansę dołączyć do szczytowych ras Drogi Mlecznej i zmienić układ sił w trwającym od wieków galaktycznym konflikcie. Wydaje się, że Ziemianie nareszcie są bezpieczni i że dla nich ta wojna dobiegła końca. Joe Bishop i jego załoga powoli oswajają się z nową rzeczywistością. Jak jednak się okazuje, nawet czas pokoju nie jest pozbawiony wyzwań dla zaprawionych w boju żołnierzy.

Elitarna załoga pirackiego okrętu znanego jako „Latający Holender” miała do wykonania prostą misję: ustalić, czy Thuranie zamierzają wysłać w kierunku Ziemi kolejny statek kosmiczny. Po drodze musiała jeszcze zająć się zabezpieczeniem przyszłości żołnierzy SEONZ na planecie Paradise. Gdy było po wszystkim, żołnierze w służbie Ziemi zapytali sprzymierzoną z nimi prastarą obcą sztuczną inteligencję, czy ich planeta jest już bezpieczna. W odpowiedzi usłyszeli: „No, nie do końca”. Teraz muszą stawić czoła nowemu wyzwaniu.

Walczyliśmy po złej stronie wojny, której nie mogliśmy wygrać. I to były te dobre wieści. Ruharowie uderzyli w Dzień Kolumba. Niewinnie dryfowaliśmy sobie na naszej błękitnej kropce, jak rdzenni mieszkańcy Ameryki w 1492 roku. Za horyzontem pojawiły się okręty technologicznie zaawansowanej, agresywnej kultury i BUM! Skończyły się stare, dobre czasy, kiedy tylko ludzie zabijali siebie nawzajem. Cóż, Dzień Kolumba. Pasuje.

Die Ruhar griffen uns am Columbus Day an. Wir trieben auf unserer kleinen blauen Murmel durch den Kosmos–arglos, wie die amerikanischen Ureinwohner im Jahr 1492. Dann tauchten am Horizont Raumschiffe einer technisch überlegenen Spezies auf. Und–BAM!–war die gute alte Zeit vorbei. Jene Zeit, als wir Menschen uns nur gegenseitig töteten. Also Columbus Day–Kolumbustag. Das passt.

Non è d'accordo, però, quando le Nazioni Unite decidono di inviare con lui quasi 70 soldati d'élite delle Operazioni Speciali, piloti straordinari e scienziati. Wesoła Banda Piratów ocaliła świat już kilkukrotnie, teraz jednak musi pogodzić się z tym, co nieuniknione. Ziemię czeka zagłada. Piratom pozostaje jedynie przetransportowanie kilku tysięcy Ziemian w bezpieczne miejsce, zanim kosmiczni najeźdźcy zniszczą ojczystą planetę ludzi. Choć to niezupełnie prawda. Pułkownik Joe Bishop i jego załoga mogą zrobić coś jeszcze. Zadać nieprzyjacielowi tak druzgocący cios, by pożałował, że kiedykolwiek usłyszał o Ziemi i jej mieszkańcach.

Wesoła Banda Piratów zaproponowała nieprzyjaciołom zawieszenie broni. Jeśli kosmici zostawią nas w spokoju, my odpłacimy się tym samym. Niestety, wróg nie zamierza ustąpić. Nad Ziemią zawisło nowe niebezpieczeństwo, a piraci muszą po raz kolejny wyruszyć w rejs po Galaktyce, aby zażegnać kryzys. Tymczasem nowo powstała Marynarka ONZ, wspierana przez reaktywowaną Legię Pozaziemską, ma własną misję do wykonania. Musi znaleźć sojuszników, którzy wspomogą ludzkość w walce. W wyniku działań nieprzewidywalnych Ziemian wielowiekowe kosmiczne koalicje stają w obliczu rozłamu.
