Ken and party are training with his grandparents, preparing themselves to the next semester of Haylon. Yet, even after the Gransmens' deaths there are still plots from the Kaiming targeting Ken. After thwarting an attack on him at the Nagato Clan, Ken heads back to Haylon to get the strength he needs. After all, at the end of this semester, Crimson owes him almost a week of personal training and she sets ambitious goals for him. If he can complete them, he'll be going to the Elven World for summer break. Now Ken just needs to get rid of all these magazines that are cluttering up his inventory!

Reeling from the conflict with the dwarves, Ken and several Haylon classes move to an event on the 28th floor of a dead branch of the dungeon to prepare for the raid. While he’s busy training, his grandparents give him his first mission to assess and carry out on his own. Between Ken’s time of scouting out and investigating his target, he runs in with the other three schools and learns he’s not the only ace damage dealer. Pendulum, Trusk and the Royal Academy all have a student that’s a head above the rest of their peers.

Winter was supposed to be a time for Ard to relax and train; instead, he finds himself repairing a ruined city. The battle at Faylin has made waves, and people are starting to have expectations for Ard and, more importantly, for Gwen. The Elder Trial is set, and Ard heads back into the den of vipers that is the capital. His new job as the deputy director is at odds with his desire to start using his powers to make a greater difference. That is, till another sect's mountain falls, and Isaac hurries to investigate. He takes Mei to investigate the fallen mountain. But even Mei isn't enough to stop what the fallen mountain brings.

Isaac's story continues. He knows being a mage is more than just simple luck. His mother tipped the dice in his favor. But that's ended. Lucky can only carry you so far. Arriving at the Ferrymen Sect, he hopes to ignite a war between the corrupt mages and those sworn to defend to the average person. But he finds the world of Sects more complex than he'd hoped. Zach is prepping for his wedding, but our favorite dragon king can’t sit still during wedding preparations, and when Maeva asks for his help to delve into the Fae Wilds to save her mother, he’s more than happy to get out of wedding planning.
