Erfindungen, die gegenwärtig undenkbar erscheinen, ermöglichen in der Welt von morgen vielleicht das heute für unmöglich Gehaltene. Von der Beeinflussung des Wetters über das Wunder der Atomkraft , der guten alten Zeitreise, bis zur Hoffnung auf Unsterblichkeit: Das Ausspinnen der Welt von morgen spiegelt immer die Wünsche, aber auch die Ängste der Menschen im Hier und Jetzt.

Können Eric und seine Crew einen Planeten finden auf dem die Sonne scheint. Der Bordcomputer, liebevoll Daddy genannt, steht Eric mit seinem ganzen Wissen zur Seite. Die Hoffnung liegt auf einem letzten Raumsprung um einen Planeten zu erreichen, der sich zur Besiedelung eignet. Denn auf dem Raumschiff warten 250000 Keimzellen.
