What would Jesus read? The Book of Tobit was part of the Greek Bible most often quoted by Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Did they make allusions to it? Does it agree with the teachings of the New Testament?

The Book of Genesis, the first book of the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, is Judaism's account of the creation of the world and the origins of the Jewish people. It is divisible into two parts, the primeval history (chapters 1–11) and the ancestral history (chapters 12–50).

The books of the Bible were written at different times by different authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years from around 1400 BC through 90 AD. The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew, excluding the Books written during "the Chaldean captivity" such as Daniel and Ezra which were written in "Biblical Aramaic". Many of the Books of The Old Testament bear the names of the prophets who authored them. Moses compiled the earlier parts of Genesis and directly authored the remaining portion.
