A complicated and multifarious notion, manipulation is mostly about our capacity to direct, influence, or control people, events, or results. It is profoundly rooted in human contacts and shapes people's communication, persuasion, and power assertion techniques. Though it is usually connected with negative connotations, manipulation is neither always good nor bad. The ethical consequences of the activity depend on its goal, technique, and effect. Manipulation is fundamentally the strategic use of knowledge, emotions, or actions to get a desired result.
