This major new poetry collection from best-selling poet and priest Malcolm Guite features more than 70 new and previously unpublished works. It includes a sequence of 27 sonnets written in response to George Herbert’s exquisite sonnet "Prayer", as well as 45 more widely ranging new poems.

The "Songs of Innocence" were published in 1789 and republished in 1794 together with the "Songs of Experience". They represent Blake's two perspectives on the world, that of the child (innocence) and that of the adult (experience). Letitia Elizabeth Landon was born on 14 August 1802 in Chelsea, London. A precocious child she had her first poem published is 1820 using a single ‘L’ as her marker. She became the chief reviewer of the Gazette and published her second collection, The Improvisatrice, in 1824. By 1826, rumours began to circulate that she had had affairs.
