L’Eneide non è un semplice poema epico ma il quadro di un passaggio fra il vecchio mondo pagano e il nuovo mondo cristiano (nondimentichiamoci infatti che Virgilio è stato la guida di Dante nella Commedia). The Iliad of Homer is the earliest work of European literature that we have. Created in the eighth century BC it has continued to arouse interest for over 2000 years. The author intended it to be heard, as delivered by a bard or rhapsode who had made the presentation of Greek epic poetry his profession, and who had command of the vocal resources and the dramatic power to move his audience.

Seine "Metamorphosen", geschrieben in Versen und in über 15 Stunden gelesen von Burgschauspieler Peter Simonischek, sind so fantasievoll wie fantastisch und regen immer wieder zu neuen Deutungen an.

Troja steht in Flammen und ist unrettbar verloren. Nun soll der Trojaner Aeneas, im Auftrag Jupiters, in der Ferne die Stadt Rom gründen. Doch die Göttermutter Juno zürnt Aeneas und seinen Gefährten. Unzählige Prüfungen müssen die Trojaner bestehen, hungrige Zyklopen überlisten und gegen die Heere Latiums kämpfen, bevor sie am Tiber eine neue Heimat finden.
