Erik Olaf-Hansens bog "Livet er jo dejligt" er en hyldest til de skønne, modne kvinder i hans liv. Han hylder især disse kvinders evne til at være omsorgsfulde, pleje venskaber og skabe og sprede skønhed og glæde i tilværelsen. Men han driller også kvinderne for deres tendens til at opdrage og irettesætte mænd. Erik Olaf-Hansen (1914-2004) er bedst kendt som Politikens mangeårige vinskribent. Han kastede sig straks efter studentereksamen over journalistikken og blev i 1945 ansat ved Politiken, hvor han skrev om sundhed og sygdom.
