  • Wait? How Did I Get Here?
    Nov 25 2025

    Buckle up, friends!

This one isn't exactly about business, but it also is.

Callie brought up a topic that, some may say, has become trending.

Mostly for women, and when we start coming into our 40s, and the conversation becomes…

"I'm tired. What am I doing with my life? I hate my career. Why did I pick what I picked? I went to school for this thing, and I got this degree, but it's not at all what I wanna do. Why did I do that? And, I can't start over. I'm at this place in my life where I can't start over. I only have 10 years till I retire or whatever it is. You know, 10, 15 years till I retire."

    Key Takeaways:

    • Where does this feeling come from?
    • Who made up the scoreboard that we're using?
    • Is self-worth something that's missing?

    Nov 19 2025

In this episode, we're answering a question from a customer's perspective:

"How to support entrepreneurs/small business owners"

We explore the misconceptions surrounding the financial aspects of small businesses, the need for community support, and the impact of consumerism. The conversation emphasizes the value of intentional shopping, understanding the true costs of products, and the role of social media in promoting small businesses.

We truly encourage listeners to be more mindful in their purchasing decisions and to find creative ways to support local businesses, even when financial constraints exist...even just a "hey, you're doing great!" comment

    Key Takeaways:

    • Understanding the financial challenges small businesses face is crucial.
    • Supporting small businesses requires intentionality and effort.
    • Consumerism has created a fast-paced environment that diminishes local businesses.
    • Quality products often come at a higher price but are worth the investment.

    Nov 12 2025

Three words were dropped into the suggested subject form…

    Imposter Freaking Syndrom

    Key Takeaways:

    • Who are we to even start and run a business?!
    • Are people judging our decisions, or are they simply mirroring back their own shit?
    • Callie shares a powerful statement about what would happen if you let someone stop you from doing something…what would that do to your journey?

And a shout-out to Jen Seris, who is killing it out there and submitted this prompt - check out her Instagram and give it a follow!

    Oct 28 2025

This week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Callie gets in the hot seat 🔥

Mostly because Amanda lost her voice, and much to Callie’s dismay, this was her solution! Fun fact, by the time we actually recorded her voice was back, but we kept the plan.

    Key Takeaways:

    • What brings Callie joy?
    • An honest convo about financial struggles
    • If she were given $10K for her business…what would she do with it?

    Hope you enjoy this one!

  • Prepping For Time Off - What Actually Matters?
    Oct 22 2025

This week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Amanda Quick and Callie Page tackle a listener's topic suggestion:

“How to take a leave of absence as a biz owner. What shit to let go of during the leave, what systems to set up, etc. “Aka maternity"

We share our logical ideas and thoughts, unsolicited takes, and some deeper aspects of this subject - your worth, your value, what you're selling, and to whom.

    Key Takeaways:

    • There doesn’t feel like enough time to talk about this on a soul level…
    • What actually (like truly) matters during this time?
    • Dear Society…we suck at honoring this time.
    • Processes and Procedures, asking for help, and removing comparison

I’d (Amanda, here) realized I should have given a major shout-out to Kristen Brown with Hoot Design Co., a marketing agency here in Columbia, MO, as she runs her marketing agency with maternity leave in mind. Click here to learn more about what they’re offering employees!

  • Forecasting Your Finances - Am I'm Just Expecting Too Much Of Myself?
    Oct 15 2025

This week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Amanda Quick and Callie Page tackle a listener question:

"How far in advance can/should I be able to project my revenue? I've been doing this for a while now and I feel like at my "peak" I could accurately forsee my numbers around 60 days out in my service/contract based business. Not exactly reassuring when there's not much in savings. It feels like I'm on a hamster wheel trying to bring in new business while still serving current clients.

In our retail businesses, it's seemingly completely unpredictable even with 3+ years of data. The products we sell aren't selling the same, the volume of traffic (web or brick and mortar) is different YOY. That being said we're hitting or exceeding our annual projections, it just looks different than what we planned.

Is it "normal" to only be able to accurately forecast a quarter (or less) at a time?

Is my business/sales pipeline "healthy" in my industry and I'm just expecting too much of myself or the business(es)? Where can I even find this sort of ancedotal information to benchmark myself against? Even friends get uncomfortable with sharing this level of detail and vulnerability.”

    — The Worry-Wort

We share our logical ideas and thoughts, unsolicited takes, and some deeper aspects of this subject - your worth, your value, what you're selling, and to whom.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Is there even a “normal” when it comes to projections?
    • As business owners, are we shooting ourselves in the foot by doing all the things and not doing the main thing that brings in revenue to keep the revenue consistent?
    • Can we have these conversations more often? We all feel like we’re doing worse than we actually are!
