His great work is compounded by his love for the bush, which he shares through his own vivid experiences, trauma, revelations and campfire tales. When he speaks, I am right there sitting next to him smelling the braai smoke, at home again.
He writes books, hosts retreats, curates online courses, but my favourite is listening to his stories. He'll make you laugh, and cry as he reaches into your psyche so comfortably to pull out some home truths. Some would call him a life coach, but the tackiness of such a title doesn't suit him. He's real, and brought here for us to learn from in a more natural way. He forgoes time in the bush to travel, helping people learn about their Selves and reach those places that we're - I know I was - scared to.
Take a listen, folks.
