  • ¿Oye Bro Es Un Slasher? Part II: Una Pesadilla de Masacres - Pesadilla Fatal (1991) & Masacre Del Bosque (1996)
    Oct 13 2025

Well of course there are Mexican slasher films, but several titles that are labeled “slashers” aren’t even really slashers at all!

In the 2nd of 4 part episodes of “Oye Bro ¿Es Un Slasher?”, hosts Armando & Joey stab into:

Pesadilla Fatal aka El Intruso (1991)

    • 80’s mexican pop sensation Tatiana stars as a blind girl being stalked by her father’s killer who’s weapon of choice is a finger-knife glove.

    Masacre En El Bosque (1996)

    • A group of friends head out to a forest home for a fun weekend, but it quickly becomes a deadly weekend instead when 2 bloodthirsty psychopaths are on the loose! One is an escaped mental patient and the other has very close ties to the forest home.

Speaking of multiple psychos! Henry Silva & Nathan Valiente join in on the bloodbath with their thoughts on both films & pick out which one is slasher and which is not.

  • Oye Bro ¿Es Un Slasher? Part 1: Panico En El Bosque (1990) & Bosque De Muerte (1993)
    Oct 6 2025

Well of course there are Mexican slasher films, but several titles that are labeled “slashers” aren’t even really slashers at all!

In the 1st of 4 part episodes of “Oye Bro ¿Es Un Slasher?”, hosts Armando & Joey slash into:

    Panico En El Bosque (1990)

    • set in a national park (or Bosque De Chapultepec), a killer is terrorizing park-goers and other troubles go on in the forest as well. The unseen vagrant killer seems to be protective of children & wants to keep any kind of trouble out of the park.

    Bosque De Muerte (1993)

    • a group of young adults head out for a weekend trip to the secluded forest home of “Silvia”, who hasn’t been at the home since her mother died under mysterious circumstances and is estranged from her father. Just when the trip seems to be going normal, a storm suddenly hits & someone is stalking the group and one by one they end up killed. Silvia & her childhood friend/forest ranger “El Jaguar” must try to find a way to escape the killer.

And to make the executions of these 2 films even more tasteful, we invited Lance & Erica of the Unsung Horrors podcast with a pre-recording of their thoughts on the films.

  • Strange Summer: Hermelinda Linda (1984) & Las Caguamas Ninja (1991)
    Jul 14 2025

The Trash-Mex Podcast gets strange (or even more so) with a couple of films that truly warped our minds!

We begin with Hermelinda Linda (1984), a peculiar & colorful horror-comedy based on a popular Mexican comic book character. Joey breaks down the film & its intriguing background.

Then we get really drunk (not literally) with Las Caguamas Ninjas (1991), a videohome that drunkenly parodies Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with pot-bellied comedic actors wearing cheap costumes & doing bad karate moves with broomsticks.

What is a “videohome” anyway? Armando chimes in on what the so-called Mexican home video “phenomenon” of the 1990’s-2000’s was really about.
