About this listen

Hosts Armando & Joey discuss two Mexican Border films of the past that are relevant to today’s political climate surrounding immigration in the United States.

Joey discusses “Mojados (1979)”: A film starring Jorge Rivero as a man who infiltrates the group of bigots behind the mass murder of Mexican immigrants who crossed over into the Rio Grande Valley. Based on the historical Bracero Program between the US & Mexico from 1942-1964.

Armando discusses “El Vagon De La Muerte (1988)”: A group of Mexican immigrants head out to the USA in a boxcar which leads to very disturbing & tragic events. Based on a real event that occurred in 1987.
