There was SO much to say about Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey that we couldn't fit it into one episode — we tried, we failed miserably, and honestly we're thrilled about it, so you're getting a two-parter.

We get into the Trojan Horse reimagining that traces back to the Troy movie Nolan never made, and the brutal sacrifice that recontextualises the whole opening. We defend the Cyclops (hear us out — on a rewatch, he's the victim).

We break down the slow, skin-crawling transformation scene that out-brutals every battle. And we get into why the first woman to translate The Odyssey, absolutely hates this film — the missing sex, the grim food, all of it. It's epic, brutal and occasionally unhinged. Part 2 drops soon.
