Nubia Younge is a self-made millionaire, cultural curator, and global entrepreneur who built a $2M+ travel empire from scratch. She is the founder of Black in Travel®, and Black Card Elite Concierge Services — a portfolio of purpose-driven brands that center Black travelers, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, and community-led experiences across the globe.

A former single mom and Section 8 recipient from Boston, Nubia launched her first travel event in Mexico with just $300 during the pandemic. What began as a simple beach brunch grew into a viral movement — and today, she has curated over 1,000 events for more than 50,000 guests worldwide.

Her mission is rooted in freedom, cultural connection, and building safe spaces for joy and wellness. She is a proud member of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) and sits on its Intersectionality Committee. My name is Paula Hairston; I have a Master's degree in Adaptive Special Education Curriculum. I also am a business owner, educator, artist, and beauty consultant. I’m passionate about helping people make memories, whether through a beautifully hosted event, a fun class, or a pop-up business opportunity. I believe in leading with heart, offering quality experiences, and making event planning easier and more accessible for everyone. In addition to running Social Flare, I’m passionate about painting and designing custom tennis shoes, turning ordinary footwear into wearable art. I love hosting paint classes, leading makeover workshops through Mary Kay, and providing spaces where people can express themselves creatively and confidently. Everything I do is rooted in my belief in creativity, connection, and empowering others to shine.

Social Flare offers affordable event space rentals at Social Flare Event Studio. We provide a beautiful, flexible venue for private parties, classes, pop-up shops, and creative events. While we focus on venue rental, we also offer add-on services such as tables, chairs, and basic setups to help our clients bring their vision to life.

We officially opened in 2023 after recognizing a need for affordable, stylish event spaces in Midlothian, VA. After months of planning, securing a location, and curating a welcoming
atmosphere, Social Flare Event Studio was born.

The vision came from my passion for bringing people together and creating memorable experiences, my love of art, and my desire to help others celebrate life’s special moments. I wanted a space where creativity, community, and celebration could meet — whether through painting, entrepreneurship, or personal milestones. I wanted to build a space where creativity, community, and celebration could thrive without breaking the bank. It’s inspired by my love for hosting, entrepreneurship, and empowering others to showcase their talents.
