  • Re-View #74: USWA 4/6/91 (Eric Embry threatens to KILL Jerry Lawler!)
    Oct 22 2025

The Retro Wrestling Re-View heads back to April 6, 1991, for another wild ride through USWA Championship Wrestling! Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel dive deep into a loaded episode where every segment feels like chaos waiting to happen, beginning with "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert’s studio match, a cameo from Jerry Lawler’s doctor, and ending with one of the most unhinged promos in Memphis history as Eric Embry threatens to literally kill Lawler inside a cage!

    Hear the crew break down:
    - Eddie Gilbert’s “rough-and-tumble” return and slow-burn face run
    - Lawler’s
“neck injury” storyline with Dr. Lee Sammons
    - Eric Embry’s vicious second-rope piledriver on Todd Johnson and the fiery
“I’m gonna kill you, Lawler” promo
    - BT’s opinion on whether Lawler and Embry’s real-life heat bled onto TV (if there really was any)
    - Steve Keirn sporting a "Tiffany" T-shirt along with Eddie Gilbert’s “In the Name of Jackie Fargo” line, and the formation of the
"New" "New" Fabulous Ones (not really)
    - All the buildup to the Parade of Champions double-cage show at the Pipkin Building!
