• A December Reset: Why This Month Is the Perfect Time to Start Journaling
    Dec 15 2025

On this episode of The Journaling Guy Podcast, I'm talking about why December is the perfect time to start Journaling.

December gets a bit of a bad reputation. It’s either “the most magical time of the year”… or an emotional obstacle course. So, to help convince you that December is actually a great time of the year to start Journaling, here are three prompts for you.

Three Things to Journal About This Month

    1. “What actually mattered this year?” - Not the goals you set in a burst of January optimism. The stuff that genuinely made life a little better.

    2. “Where did I feel most like myself?” - Moments of honesty, calm, flow, or weird joy. These become signposts for next year.

    3. “What am I carrying that I don’t want to bring into the new year?” - Old frustrations, outdated expectations, emotional clutter. Journaling is a brilliant place to put down the things you’re tired of holding.

If that feels like too much, why not just start Journaling today with this: Write for 5 minutes on this: “What surprised me about myself this year?” - Surprises reveal truths you didn’t see coming.

  • Building Consistency: Making Journaling a Habit That Sticks
    Dec 8 2025

On this episode of The Journaling Guy Podcast I'm talking about Consistency!

Building Consistency is the key to many things in life, and Journaling is no exception.

How can we make it something we WANT to do regularly, in other words how do we make it a habit?

Here are your Practical Tips for Consistency:

    1. Lower the bar
    2. Pair it with something you already do
    3. End on a positive

    Also, try this prompt:

“When do I feel most ready to reflect, and how can I protect that time?”

  • The Morning Reset: Starting the Day with Intention
    Dec 1 2025

On this episode I'm talking about The Morning Reset!

How a quick Journaling habit first thing in the morning, can change everything that comes after it.

    Today's Main Prompt is:

    1. “What do I want to focus on today?”
    2. “What do I need to do to achieve that?”
    3. “What’s one small thing that would make today a win?”

If you want to ease yourself in though, try this first thing tomorrow morning.

Before the day hijacks you, open your journal and maybe write "Today, I choose to…” and then complete that sentence. Let me know how you get on with these.

  • Overcoming Challenges: Writing Your Way Through the Tough Stuff
    Nov 17 2025

On this episode I'm talking about how Journaling can help you to overcome life's challenges.

The funny thing about challenges are that we often treat them like enemies. They become something we attempt to conquer or simply run away from. But in the pages of a journal, they become our best teachers.

Today's Prompt - “What’s really happening here and what story am I telling myself?”

    Then move onto...

What’s one small action I can take today to move this forward?

  • Daily Prompts: Fuel for the Writing Habit
    Nov 10 2025

Today we're talking about Daily Prompts; those short, simple questions that get you writing when the brain fog kicks in.

During the episode, I gave you two sets of prompts. For the full context make sure you listen to the episode, but here they are.

Here are a few of my favourite go-to prompts:

    1. What’s on my mind right now?
    2. What do I need today?
    3. What am I avoiding?
    4. What’s gone well lately?
    5. What am I learning about myself?

You don’t have to use them all. Just pick one that fits the day.

    PLUS...

    • Monday - “What do I want to achieve this week?”
    • Tuesday - “What’s draining my energy right now?”
    • Wednesday - “What am I proud of?”
    • Thursday - “What would I do if I wasn’t afraid of failing?”
    • Friday - “Who or what made this week better?”

That following weekend, read them back. You’ll start to see patterns, little clues about what really matters to you.

  • Goal Setting and Life Audits: Getting Clear Without Getting Overwhelmed
    Oct 27 2025

Today we’re talking about Goal Setting but not in that overhyped, “crush it in 90 days” kind of way.

We’re going to talk about real goals. The kind that actually mean something to you.

So, before you write a single goal, ask yourself this in your journal:

“What’s feeling off in my life right now?” And then: “What would ‘better’ look like for me, realistically?”

Here’s your journaling prompt for this week...

“If I could make one small change this month that would improve my day-to-day life, what would it be?”

    Today's Prompts...

    1. “What are three small things that made today a bit better?”
    2. “What part did I play in those moments?”
