  • How Audi uses LSTM in resistance spot welding
    Jul 23 2025
With the help of artificial intelligence, Audi analyzes around 1.5 million weld points on 300 vehicles per shift at its Neckarsulm site. By way of comparison, employees in production previously monitored the quality of the processes involved in resistance spot welding (WPS) manually on a random basis using ultrasound, checking just over 5,000 weld spots per vehicle. Thanks to the use of AI, employees can now concentrate on potential anomalies and thus check quality even more efficiently and in a more targeted manner.
