Living in Hawaii is a dream come true.... but is it really?

In this episode we're going to talk through the trade-offs I make to live in Hawaii and work east coast hours.

Waking up at 2am, bi-phastic sleeping, sharing the early morning hours with my husband and getting uninterrupted hours of time with my kids.

I'm sharing all of the things I do to live a life many only dream of.

It was not a simple podcast to record, but I think the content is valuable and I hope you get something from it.

In this episode we are going to talk about rents, gas, groceries, and other things that impact the cost of goods and services here in Hawaii. I also give you a quick tip you can use any time to do a quick cost comparison on things you purchase regularly so that you are better informed on how your economics may change should you choose to move to Hawaii for an extended period of time.

When we flew to Hawaii in late 2025 we brought our dogs, and because of their size they needed to fly as cargo.

In episode 4 we talked about the process you need to work with your vet on to get all of the vaccines, FAVN & USDA Health Certificate completed before you fly to Hawaii.

Amidst my husband working out of town for 4-5 days a week, moving my dad from assisted living to skilled nursing, selling my childhood home, purging and packing, homeschooling, and working full time - I hired a company to help me get my dogs to Hawaii.

If you choose to hire a company to help move your dogs be very careful. Research the company and stay on top of the process. DO NOT just expect that they'll get it done for you.
