Having relocated to a new country, she draws on the belief that “giving up is not an option” both in adapting professionally and in executing closure and remediation projects. She also emphasises the vital role of community both personal and professional and brings a reflective spiritual approach to her environmental work, seeing technical solutions as part of a broader purpose of stewardship and connection.

Annet has championed capacity building through humanitarian engineering projects, including clean-energy initiatives in refugee settlements, and has held leadership roles within the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE). Her story is one of resilience, advocacy, and paving the way for more women in engineering.
