• Money Shame: How to Move Past It and Live Your Best Financial Life with LaQueshia Clemons, LCSW, AFC®
    Jul 12 2025

MONEY SHAME (yikes!)...it's a charged topic, and it's much more common than you probably think.

It's that regret, that embarrassment, that "ick" you get around your past financial decisions that -- truth be told -- inevitably get in the way of your current and future financial decisions.

We have all experienced it, and it's time to normalize it and move past it.

On this episode, I have the great pleasure of talking with LaQueshia Clemons, LCSW, AFC®. LaQueshia is a therapist and a financial counselor with deep knowledge of money trauma and healing.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • What money shame is, how it feels, and how it holds us back
    • How money shame is much more common than you think: Even financial professionals, those people who are supposed to be "good with money" need help working with their money shame in their personal finances
    • The steps to take to recognize and move past money shame in your own life
    • Our personal stories of money shame and how self knowledge and a plan of action helped us move through it
    • The power of feeling the shame and "doing it anyway"--doing that thing, making that decision, moving through that feeling so it no longer holds you back

You can find more about LaQueshia and her work and access free resources at her private practice website: Freedom Life Therapy.

  • Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired: Why I Started My Own Registered Investment Advisory Firm
    Jun 28 2025

This 10 min episode tells you everything that you need to know about the investment advisory firm I launched this year: New Paradigm Wealth Advisory, LLC.

    Why start my own firm?

Because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired of women clients coming to me and telling me that they felt judged, shamed, and overlooked when they met with male financial advisors.

Plain and simple: my firm is a no-judgement, no-shame space where you can ask all the questions you've been too afraid to ask, get the education and advice you need to pursue and reach your goals, and dream big and bold about your financial future.

I want clients to walk out of their meetings with me feeling seen, heard, and energized about the possibilities in front of them.

I offer FREE, 20-min Zoom conultations to anyone interested in working with me. To book a call, fill out this quick form.

  • Your Brain Is the Original Algorithm: Using Neuroscience to Turn Goals into Reality, with Tanya Tarr, MS, NBC-HWC
    Apr 25 2025

Begin harnessing the power of your brain's natural capcities to make your goals a reality.

In this episode, I talk with Tanya Tarr, MS, NBC-HWC, behavioral scientist and executive health coach. She's studied human behavior for over 20 years and her insights will help you understand the "cheat codes" to help your brain help you achieve your goals.

In this episode we talk about:

    • How our brain is the "original algorithm"--whatever we feed it (negativity, self criticism, positivity, self confidence), we get more of
    • Why some positive affirmations don't work--we need to affirm ourselves based on things we have already accomplished rather than what we haven't
    • How to access the "cheat codes" for the brain--which will help you increase the chances that you'll get to your goals
    • The evidence and science behind how high performing individuals--olympians, entertainers, etc--stay at that high performing level for the long term
    • The value of a "reset" for your body and mind
    • How consistent, incremental progress helps you get to your goal
    • Practical examples of what these actions look like in real life and related to personal finances
    • What "manifestation" and "the law of attraction" misses and how to use research based insights to help what you want in life to materialize

If you're interested in getting to your financial goals in an authentic way--and like a little humor too--this episode is for you!

  • Divorce and Uncoupling: What You Need to Know to Protect Your Finances with Nikki Tucker, CDFA®
    Mar 14 2025

DIVORCE/UNCOUPLING: A difficult journey and sometimes a necessary one.

If you are considering separation, divorce, or uncoupling from your parnter, this is the episode for you! (Even if you're not...every woman should listen to this episode).

I had the good fortune to talk with Nikki Tucker, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) and founder of The FIIRM Approach, on what every woman in a relationship should do to make sure she can protect her financial standing.

    Nikki and I talk about:

    • The current economic environment and how that should be a motivation for every woman to get her finances in order
    • The importance of basic awareness of your finances: too often, we might avoid our finances or outsource them to our partner in relationships--we need to be in touch with them so that we have clarity on what's actually going on
    • The reality that most women leave a relationship and experience poorer financial outcomes than their male ex-partners
    • The importance of getting usernames and passwords organized and running your credit to make sure you have access to your financial systems and records
    • How preparation can support you in weathering the emotional aspects of divorce/uncoupling
    • The importance of connecting with your future self when we're in the middle of divorce proceedings and negotiations; remembering that you want your future self to say: "Thank you for looking out for us."

I have been wanting to talk with a CDFA® for a long time so that our community of podcast listeners can have tools they can use to take action when considering and navigating the divorce and uncoupling process.
