• EDP41: Australian XC Selection Trials / Valencia Marathon Preview / GB Euro XC Team
    Nov 30 2025

We kick things off with the Australian Cross Country Selection Trials under the lights at Stromlo. With automatic spots on the line and no livestream (cheers, Inside Running IG Live), we try to unpack who will make the team, who is in pole position and who's spots could be in jeopardy - but realistically who can predict what the selectors will do! Plus: Leanne’s statement run, and how the crafty 'qualification times' may come into play.

Then we head to the UK, where Great Britain’s Euro XC teams were announced. We talk through the final selections, the debate around the 6th spots, and how recent form shaped the squad.

From there, it’s all eyes on Spain with our Valencia Marathon preview — elite fields, surprise additions, and the Aussies and Brits lining up for big runs. We look at the major contenders, the storylines to watch, and the names we think could explode on race day.

In the news segment, the Grand Slam Track saga somehow gets even messier. Financial restructuring, unpaid vendors, athlete payment issues, and letters requesting 50% settlements… we break down the latest chapter in what has become the sport’s biggest clown show.

    Plus:
🏃‍♂️ Training Weeks – Ryan’s return-to-run update & how Dean’s build is tracking. Eoin continues in fine form getting back into it after national XC
📺 YouTube Diaries – what we’ve been watching (and what we haven’t…)

  • EDP38: Cardiff XC / Training Camp week 2 / Fremantle Running Festival
    Nov 9 2025

The boys are back – sunburned, caffeinated, and firing on all cylinders.

This week, we kick things off local with the Fremantle Running Festival, before diving into the Cardiff Cross Challenge, the opening round of the 2025/26 UK Athletics Cross Challenge Series. We unpack standout performances from rising juniors and pros alike, from Megan Keith’s unlucky spike branch moment to Innes FitzGerald’s statement win ahead of Euro XC.

Elsewhere, Ryan shares an injury update, Eoin checks in from training camp, and Dean’s on the hunt for more sprint segment wins on the group ride.

In the news, the AIU drops retrospective Russian doping bans, Jimmy Whelans transition from cyclist/triathlete to runner grabs YouTube diaries, and the lads debate one of the biggest moral issues in modern running: the rise of OfficialUnofficialMarathonTime – the Strava police exposing GPS inflation and early watch-stoppers.

Plus, community picks from @rundais’ “22 Best Australian Running Podcasts” list, some shoe chat featuring Under Armour’s new Velociti Elite 3, and another fiery round of Double Trouble that might just divide opinions again.

  • EDP37: New York City Marathon / Noosa Bolt / Eoin's Spanish Training Camp
    Nov 3 2025

The boys are back — recording in the Perth heat while Eoin joins live from his self-proclaimed “training oven” in Spain.

This week, the team dives deep into the 2025 New York City Marathon, unpacking Helen Obiri’s course record-breaking run, the Kenyan clean sweep, and what makes the NYC course one of the most iconic and brutal in the world. We go deep into amazing results from Patrick Deever, Jess Warner-Judd Joe Klecker, and of course the great man Kipchoge wearing Nike's latest piece of tech/performance clothing. We also debate why more pros are choosing tactical, non-paced races.

Noosa Bolt happened up on the east coast of Australia, where Jude Thomas and Maudie Skyring reigned victorious.

Eoin goes through in detail his biggest training week ever (in Spain) as he continues to build towards Irish National Cross Country Championships In this week's double trouble,

Dean and Eoin cover YouTube diaries with Adam Fogg and Double Trouble gets plenty of air time this week with the lads stringing them off...

    Oct 28 2025

The boys are back with a massive episode covering a packed weekend of global racing. From the Valencia Half Marathon where Agnes Ngetich came close to the world record, Kejelcha took a shot at his own course record and Almgren becomes the first European to break 59min. The Brits impressed too with Alfie Manthorpe leading Charles Wheeler, Alex Yee and Ben Connor but Irelands Efrem Gidey pipped them all —

Eoin recaps the Dublin Marathon where a 19 year old woman runs 2:34! Also the results from Burnie10 in Tasmania.

  • Joe Wigfield: Knocking on the Door – 62:04 Manchester Half Winner
    Oct 23 2025

This week, Ryan sits down with fellow Wirral native Joe Wigfield – the newly-crowned Manchester Half Marathon champion after an impressive 62:04 win over GB international Jonny Mellor.

Joe actually coached Ryan to his 2:45 debut marathon so they share some early reflections on the coach/athlete relationship.

They dive straight into the details behind Manchester: the race plan, pacing calls, mental battles, and what it’s like tackling longer distances when you come from the track. How to beat and elite marathoner as a traditional 800/1500m guy and what is going through Joe's mind at different points throughout the race.

Joe rewinds to his early days at Wirral AC, where he juggled high jump and middle-distance before heading to St Mary’s University under coach Craig Winrow, reflects on a brief and confusing year with HOKA, and opens up on the lessons that shaped his career.

There’s plenty more – from GB selection debates to World Cross in Bathurst, dealing with stress fractures, rebuilding confidence, and chasing redemption at the British Champs. Plus a quick-fire round where Joe picks between a GB vest or Liverpool’s Champions League, reveals his top coffee spots in Teddington, and his beer of choice.

One of Britain’s most versatile distance talents, Joe’s story is about resilience, range, and the belief that the best is yet to come.

  • EDP35: New Irish Marathon Record / Dublin & Amsterdam Marathon Preview / Double Trouble / Training & Race Weeks
    Oct 18 2025

EDP35 – New Irish Marathon Record | Dublin & Amsterdam Previews | Double Trouble

A big week in distance running and a chaotic one for the Easy Double crew. Eoin's on pre-race duty ahead of his cross-country, Dean and Ryan accidentally launch the “Easy Peddle” series after a group ride gets a bit too competitive, and somehow we end up talking about lactate, fuel tanks, and Perth petrol prices.

We break down Connor Mantz’s new North American record (2:04:43), ask why more marathoners seem to be DNF’ing than ever, and read out listener thoughts on women-only events and inclusivity in running.

All that plus a look ahead to Dublin and Amsterdam Marathons, a Chicago recap, and plenty of Double Trouble along the way.

Tune in for running talk, laughs, and the usual unfiltered chaos.
