• Your Way. Your Rules. Your Results.
    Aug 14 2025
Sometimes you've got to ditch the rules, rewrite the playbook and start to DO IT YOUR WAY! That's where I found myself after 10 years working in the corporate world. I was tired of working 8-5pm (really it was more like 7:30am-6:30pm) and having no control over my time. Even if I wrapped up for the day, I was expected to sit at my desk because that is what the leadership team did to set an example for the others.

Over time, the stress of working so much and having two little kids got to me and eventually had me reevaluate what was important in my life. I decided there wasn't a boss in the world that would let me off work to go do all of the things I wanted to do when I wanted to do them so I became an entrepreneur. It's time you started to write your own rules. Want to work from 9-2pm every day? Do it! Give yourself permission to have different seasons in life. Sometimes you are working 12 hour days to launch and build a million dollar business. Other times, it's ok to take a sigh and make family a priority while revenue stays flat. Do what feels right to you!

What if success wasn’t about climbing someone else’s ladder… but building your own?

In this episode of the DO IT MY WAY podcast, we’re redefining what success really means—without the hustle guilt, the comparison trap, or the need for approval. You’ll hear the real talk every female founder needs: how to break the rules, trust your gut, and finally feel like enough, no matter what your revenue says.

Because success isn’t a title. It’s doing life and business on your terms.

  • Don’t Let This Social Media Mistake Cost You Everything
    Jul 31 2025

Imagine waking up tomorrow and TikTok is gone.
    Your Instagram account? Locked.
    100,000 followers… vanished.

How would you reach your audience?
Could you still sell your products or services?

I have a client who just hit 100k followers on TikTok very quickly, which is amazing! While she was celebrating, I was strategizing how we get those followers off TikTok onto a podcast that lives on a website she owns. What if TikTok shut down tomorrow and she lost all of those followers?

In this week’s podcast episode, I’m breaking down why you can’t rely on social media alone—and how to start moving your followers onto platforms you own like an email list or podcast.

This is one of the most important shifts you can make to protect your business and future-proof your brand.

    I’ll share:

    • Why your follower count doesn’t mean much (yet)

    • How to get your audience off Instagram, TikTok & Facebook

    • Easy ways to grow your email list starting today

    • How I’ve seen creators lose everything overnight

If you’ve been putting this off, you can’t afford to miss this one.

Because at the end of the day…
Likes don’t pay the bills—emails do.

  • It's Not What You Say, It's the Energy You Sell
    Jul 24 2025
One of the most powerful things I learned in sales was the transfer of energy. Now, I didn't start off that way. When I first started cold calling and selling advertising for 918moms.com, I had a script and I awkwardly tried to remember it word for word when I was selling to potential clients. It was brutal and it didn't feel authentic to me. One day I decided to ditch the script and just be myself. Guess what happened? Sales started to close. I got more comfortable and actually started to love talking to new people about their marketing. The key here is TALK vs. SELL. I decided to take the pressure off myself and just walk in and have a conversation about how I could help them solve their marketing problems. That is when I discovered I was able to transfer my ENERGY and passion for marketing onto the prospect and it worked! I love marketing and I have seen time and time again where it can change people's business which often changes their lives if it is done right! I began to get more confident and was able to transfer my energy which closed more deals. Are you selling from a place of fear or pressure to get the deal? That nervousness is probably coming through to the person on the other side turning them off. Check out the latest episode of the DO IT MY WAY Podcast where I share my tips on how to transfer your energy to your team, a potential client, even your spouse!

  • What KPIs a CEO Should Actually Track
    Jul 17 2025
When I first started D2 Branding, the #1 thing I was tracking was my revenue! After all, we are in business to make money, which lets us make an impact on those we love. My goal was to reach $100,000 a month and become a MILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS! That sounded so great! Once we hit that goal, I was so excited but also confused on why I didn't have extra money in the account. The problem: my expenses were way too high! Instead of tracking revenue you need to also track net profit, which is your most important number! How much money are you making after all of your expenses are paid? There are also many key KPIs to track like the lifetime value of a customer. How long are your customers staying with you? Do they leave after the first transaction or are you able to retain them for years? This is a big indicator on the return on investment for the cost to acquire them. If you lose money the first month you acquire them but make money over the next 12 months, it is worth it! Check out the latest episode of the DO IT MY WAY Podcast where I share the key performance indicators you should be tracking.

  • How Female Founders Can Transition Into True CEOs
    Jul 10 2025
We have all been there, you are the founder of your company and sometimes you feel like the only one who can do all of the tasks and the one that cares the most. One of the hardest transitions in my career has been going from a founder to a CEO. Many times as founders we are solopreneurs doing everything for the business until we are able to hire our first team member. It can be hard to transition from doer to thinker! If you do not spend time each week strategically thinking of how to grow and scale your business, it is not going to happen. You don't have time to think about strategy and vision when you are stuck in the day to day tasks. This is where your team comes in! Empower them to do the job and delegate the day to day tasks. I found out once I did this, I had more time to be the visionary in the business and guess what? They were way better at those tasks than me! I tell my team all of the time, if a process in our business involves me, it will probably be messed up! Now is the time to shift from being a founder and start to make decisions as a CEO. Learn from me what to do and more importantly what not to do on the latest episode of the DO IT MY WAY Podcast!

  • Owning Your Look & Your Life — Crystal Smith
    Jul 4 2025

In this vibrant episode of The DO IT MY WAY Podcast, we sit down with Crystal Smith, personal stylist, business owner, mom, and franchisee of House of Colour, to talk style, boundaries, and building a business that works with your life—not against it.

Crystal shares how she turned a curiosity about color theory into a full-blown business helping women feel confident in their own skin. From using the science of color and proportion to transform wardrobes, to teaching clients how to dress in a way that reflects who they’ve always been, this is so much more than fashion. It’s personal empowerment.

She also gets candid about the challenges of entrepreneurship and motherhood, opening up about the power of delegation, the importance of faith, and what it really means to set boundaries that protect the people and the values you hold closest.

Whether you’re juggling rubber balls or glass ones (she explains the difference!), questioning your career path, or just want to walk into a room and own it, this episode is for you.

  • Should I Start a Biz With My Bestie?
    Jun 26 2025

I have been thinking a lot about business partnerships lately. I am contemplating partnering up on a business right now and I have a client who is in the process of partnering with her best friend. It all sounds so fun and when you are in the honeymoon phase when all you can think about is making money and having fun!

This is all true, you CAN make money and you WILL have fun, but not every day is going to be an easy road. There are many things to consider before entering into a business partnership with a friend or anyone for that matter.

For starters, you need to have a shared vision for where you want the company to go. Is this a fun "side business" or are you looking to build it up and sell it one day or create generational wealth for your family? Those are very different goals and if you don't talk about it ahead of time, it can lead to conflict.

You also want to have complementary strengths. When I launched 918moms.com with Melanie Henry, we were exact opposites and it worked! I handled all of the sales and marketing and she was more behind the scenes handling all of the content and operations. It was a match made in heaven! We were able to scale quickly because we weren't lacking the skills needed to succeed between the two of us!

Have you ever partnered with your bestie? How did it turn out? I'd love to hear from you! I have compiled a list of all of the things you need to consider before entering into a business partnership with your bestie on the latest episode of the DO IT MY WAY Podcast!
