    • Teacher: Thomas worked for 27 years as a pre-school teacher atAmityville Head Startand also serves as a Bible school teacher.
    • Motivational speaker and coach: Drawing on her own story of grief and recovery, she works as a motivational speaker, consultant, and coach, empowering women and youths and offering grief counseling.Personal life and inspiration
      • Thomas is a single mother of two children, Sabria and her late son, Tysean, who died in 2009.
      • The death of her son inspired her writing, particularly the book From the Waiting Room to the Recovery Room, and led her to become a "dream ignitor".
      • Thomas is also a stroke survivor and continues to inspire people from her hospital bed.
      • Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11. A quote that inspires her is, "I don't feel no way tired. I have come too far from where I started from...I made it on broken pieces".
