• Episode 106 - Ghost of Yotei State of Play
    Jul 16 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

Today we're talking about two new indie games that got announce along with the deep dive Sucker Punch gave us on Ghost of Yotei so lets get into it!

    The Mound

A new co-op indie game set on a cursed island where you and up to three friends try to survive the Lovecraftian madness and leave the island with untold treasure. The game sounds great on paper and looks interesting enough but my personal fear is that this game will play like Warhammer Vermintide. Which isn't a bad game just one that isn't really that fun in my opinion.

    Tombwater

Our second new indie tittle for the night is inspired by the souls like genre and the good old Legend of Zelda games like Link to the Past. This game seems to combine western ascetic with occult horror. Throw in some souls like mechanics and a heap of nostalgic art style and my interest is peaked.

    Ghost of Yotei

Sony gave us a state of play for Ghost of Yotei and we got a look at some of the cool new mechanics of the game as we as the arsenal you'll have access to in the game. There's really not much to say here other than it looks like all the improvements they've made are a step in the right direction. Replacing the journal with the wolf pack function is a cool new unique way to handle questing and I cant wait to see how that all comes together.

  • Episode 105 - Sabotage, Bricked Systems, and Disappointment
    Jul 9 2025

    Good Morning Coindroppers

I hope you're all having a good week so far and enjoying the summer. Today we're talking about Mindseye, The Switch 2 and how Nintendo continues to just be the worse, and a new indie game Midnight Walkers.

    Mindseye

To be more specific here we're actually talking about the fact that someone on the team, including the CEO seems to think that the game failed due to "sabotage" both internal and external. Seems like a bit of a stretch....

    Switch 2

To probably no ones surprise we're talking about the switch 2 again and once again the information isnt great. Turns out Nintendo thought it was a good idea to put in proprietary protocols on the Switch 2's USB C port so they can brick your system if you don't use THEIR products. Meaning no battery packs, no other chargers, no third party accessories. Seriously how does Nintendo STILL have fans? Speaking of fans maybe the switch 2 needs some better ones because it seems like that system gets incredibly hot when docked and when held in hand.

    Midnight Walkers

A new indie extraction shooter from Korean Dev One Way Ticket. Honestly... It's not as impressive as I was hoping. Played it a bit after recording and boy does it feel uninspired and boring. Nothing unique or interesting about this game at all...

  • Episode 104 - Kind of a slow week...
    Jul 2 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers

Today we... don't really have a whole lot for you. We're in the wake of the big summer shows so there isn't a ton new to talk about. However we do have news. Primarily that we will officially be at PAX West as media this year and I cannot understate how excited I am by that. Thank all of your for your listener and viewship. We really couldn't have done this without you and I cannot be more grateful to you all.

    Resident Evil Requiem

We got some gameplay of the long awaited RE9 as well as a bit of an interview. So once again we're gonna talk about Resident Evil and clear up the incredibly incorrect information we said last time. Sorry about that.

    Blood Message

Blood Message is an excellent new game from Net Ease that looks like they achieved all the things Ubisoft failed to do with Assassins Creed Shadows. Honestly this game looks amazing and if it can deliver the narrative single player experience it seems to promise it will be a very good game.

    The Summer Games Show!

This episode is the long awaited Summer Games Show episode where we discuss games shown at the show and give our thoughts and opinions. Witcher 4 State of Unreal 2025

The Witcher 4 showed off some in engine real time footage during the State of Unreal this last week and holy shit it was amazing. I mean the level of detail and scale of what they've put together so far is nothing short of amazing.

    Switch 2

Switch 2 released and to no one' surprise it's sold out everywhere. The question is, are scalpers buying up all the consoles or are sales ACTUALLY good? Hard to say right now but we'll keep an eye on this.

    Dune Awakening

Early access started at the time we recorded this podcast so we're discussing it along with some tangents. Hold on to your seat as we blather on about bullshit.

    Legacy: Steel & Sorcery

Last episode we talked about the fact that they were doing a free weekend and I got about an hour of play time with the game which we're going to talk about here. We've got some feeling and some thoughts however it's important to keep in mind that the game is still in early access and everything is subject to change.

    No Life: Zombie Survivor

New Indie game from a solo dev that plays similar to Vampire Survivors has been shown off and it looks like a fun take on the bullet hell genera. An action Roguelike with zombies and character upgrades , PLUS a dog companion? I'm interested. No release date yet but hopefully soon.

  • Episode 100 - A New "Console" Enters the War
    May 21 2025

    Good Morning Coindroppers!

Today we have a special guest with us so please forgive the shit audio as it was kind of a last minute decision. Bski flew in for my birthday over the weekend and we had him on the show. Unfortunately this wasn't exactly planned so he had to record at my wife's desk right next to mind and our audio bled a bit. We did our best but hey, impromptu special guest what can you do?

    NEX Playground

I'm not sure how to feel about this topic. This strange new "Console" isn't exactly new. Apparently it's been around for about 2 years now and I cant tell if its a gimmick or brilliant. There's no arguing that the console that used to be the lowest cost to entry and the most kid friendly, Nintendo's Switch, has gotten a bit too costly. Enter Nex Playground that seems to potentially be aiming to fill that gap?

    Legacy: Steel & Sorcery Update

Legacy has launched its first "Season" and added wizards to the game. Something that seems like it should have been there from the start. They did do a free weekend this weekend and the game is 20% off till the 22nd so if you're interested in a Fantasy 3rd person Extraction game from veterans of WoW consider picking this one up. I spent about an hour in the game on their free weekend and will be talking about it next weekend.

    Prologue: Go Wayback

Mike shares his thoughts with us about his experience during this "game's(?)" play test. Lets see what he thinks.

  • Episode 99 - Halloween Comes Early
    May 14 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

Today we've got some indie horror games that ARENT! about children and toys as well as a game that seems to be blending all the best parts of Skyrim and Minecraft! Before we get started, We recently did a our stream with the devs behind EXFIL and honestly it was a blast. You can find that VOD here. We wont be doing a second community stream this month so our next will be the last Friday in June at 8pm Pacific.

Also, If you like our content please leave us a review where ever you listen to us, follow us of Facebook and Subscribe on YouTube. It really helps us out with finding new listeners.

    She's Leaving

A new indie horror game where you play as a blood splatter forensics expert in the UK to solve the disappearance of multiple people. Set in first person view and armed with only a tazer this game gives off some grounded Resident Evil 1 vibes with the Resident Evil 7 & 8 view point. Seriously this game looks amazing and we cant wait to hear more from Blue Hat about it.

    I Am Ripper

Our second indie horror game also set in the UK. You play as a detective in a narrative choice based game in the veins of Until Dawn, Heavy Rain, or Project Indigo. Set in the 1980s during a particularly brutal economic downturn you have to solve this investigation by tracking down clues that will hopefully lead you to find this elusive serial killer. Much like She's Leaving, I personally cannot wait to hear more and get my hands on this incredibly rich looking game from the amazing devs at White Paper Games.

    Everwind

At first glance no one would blame you for saying "This is just Minecraft with mods" but trust me the more you dig into Everwind the more it shows how diverse and unique it is. It takes the simple Minecraft formula and expands it by a factor of 10,000x. Their Kickstarter is live now and you can support them here if you choose.

    QUICK FIRE
