• Exploring the UK's most haunted buildings
    Nov 25 2025

In this episode we chat with Jess, a paranormal investigator who enjoys exploring the bridge between the living and the dead.
Most Saturday nights you'll find Jess and a group of nervous clients meandering through the basements, tunnels and backrooms of some of the creepiest buildings in the UK from court rooms and mansions to creepy council houses and everything in between.
And during her years pursuing this unlikely hobby on communicating with the spirit world, Jess has seen a few things... she's been punched by the Jailer, and run squealing from the room after an unexpected encounter.
She's watched tables walk upstairs, catballs fly across the room and seen more flashes of light, shadowy figures and weird goings on that you would care to imagine.
We were pretty excited to chat with Jess, who has been a friend of our YouTube channel for a few years now - we hope you enjoy this podcast.
Oh, and any questions for Jess, email us at areyoudyingtoknow@gmail.com and we will ask her to answer them for you.
    Til next time,
    Take care,
    T&T xx

  • From deathbed to the grave
    Oct 2 2025

In this episode we talk about the process of death, and touch on many of the questions and decisions that need to be made, so that you can be prepared if and when death affects your family.

It's a step away from our usual mortuary and embalming talk, but after speaking with hundreds and hundreds of people, we have realised that most people first encounter their local funeral director when they are forced into planning the funeral of a loved one who has died. Unfortunately, this is not the best time, when shrouded by loss and grief, to be making snap decisions on inclusions that will shape the way your person is farewelled, and remembered.

So what we are saying to you is this - get educated. Know what your choices are before you are in this situation. And, if possible, know what your loved ones - your parents, spouse or partner, siblings and kids would want for their final sendoff, long before those decisions need to be acted upon.

  • Combatting a fear of death
    Sep 2 2025

In this podcast we discuss the fear of death and suggest some strategies to alleviate this fear that have worked for us and others in the past. Whether it's the fear of your own death, of someone you love, even a pet dying - or the fear of your body being vulnerable after death, these are all common fears that people have been writing in to us for years.

Now, as we say in the pod, we are not trained counsellors, and these strategies are only suggestions - so please, if you are struggling with any feelings that are affecting the way you live your life, we really recommend you seek professional help - your doctor or a telephone helpline is a great place to start - there's no need to suffer alone.

We hope you enjoy this pod.

  • The strange places & ways people die
    Jul 22 2025

In this pod, we revisit a conversation about some of the more unusual places/circumstances people have died in, under mortician/embalmer Tracy's watch.

As heart retching and devastating death can be, it forms a part of all of our lives and so occasionally, we like to venture to the lighter side of things and this, friends, is one of those times. If you watch us on YouTube, you may have heard one or two of these before - but believe us - there is a never-ending stream of lighter, quirky stories to share, and we are constantly amazed by the vastly different type of deaths, and also ways people grieve or celebrate life.

We hope you enjoy our podcast and take this discussion in the spirit it was intended.

  • Preparing a baby in the mortuary - July 9
    Jul 8 2025

Any death is tragic, sad and often distressing for the family, but the death of a baby either in utero or in the first hours, days and months of life can take the feelings of grief and loss to a whole different level. Having time with the baby, either at home or as a family viewing in the funeral home, can bring some comfort and this time together, unrushed and in private, is something grieving parents often need.

In this episode mortician/embalmer Tracy explains how she works on the body of a baby to prepare it for a family viewing - because in most cases, when a baby dies, the parents will want to spend a little more time with the infant, to cuddle and hold it, and often they ask to take the baby home. There are times when this is possible, and times when it may not be advised, but it is the mortician's job to put whatever steps in place that need to be done so the family can have that time to say goodbye. We hope this episode answers some of your questions. Thaks for listening,
