Warrior-priests, they fight alongside their battle-brothers, chanting the Chapter's sacred battle creeds, and inspiring their brethren to greater feats of bravery. To enemies they appear as terrifying and sinister figures in black power armour and skull-visaged helmets.

Each Chapter has its own unique cult, which is often thousands of years old. As these cults often predate the rise of the Ecclesiarchy, the Chapter cults are not simply facets of the common Imperial Cult. While the Ecclesiarchy and its lay followers worship the Emperor of Mankind as a deity, several Chapter cults regard him as merely a brilliant and inspirational man, though with scarcely less reverence. As in all things, this view of the Emperor's divinity, or lack thereof, varies from Chapter to Chapter. The chapter's own Primarch is also a major part of the Chapter's specific cult, revered as much as the Emperor.

Today we are going to go over something that the Imperium doesn’t like to admit to: allying with the things they hate the most. Sometimes this is due for necessity for resources, but more often than not it is an “enemy of my enemy” situation. There are many threats to the galaxy as a whole, and some are more all-consuming than others. Though there have been instances of Xenos and Humanity allying in the face of Chaos, there is no more unifying enemy than the Tyranids. So, we are going to go over some notable times where the Imperium of Man decided to see the big picture and agree to a truce with some of the most prominent xenos in the galaxy.

An Apothecary is a specialist Firstborn and Primaris Space Marine medicae officer who possesses advanced biomedical and scientific training and who serves as a combat medic and research physician for his Chapter. An Apothecary's role in battle is to recover the gene-seed from slain Astartes and to tend to the wounded and maimed.

Outside of combat, Apothecaries are responsible for monitoring the Chapter's neophytes for mutation or flaws in their gene-seed and organ implants and for carrying out the implantation process in their Chapter's aspirants. The Apothecary is well-versed in the arts of battlefield first aid as well as advanced surgical techniques, cybernetics and bio-engineering.

The Federation of Super Earth, commonly referred to as Super Earth, The Federation or Super Earth Federation, is the largest faction in the Milky Way, consisting of 259 planets grouped into 55 Sectors. Super Earth follows a system of government called Managed Democracy, in which Citizens must fill out a form from which a computer algorithm will take the answers and produce who they truly want to vote for. The population of the Federation is centered around Super Earth, with colonial outposts of various sizes scattered about the galaxy. The Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF) have billions of active personnel and an elite Helldiver Corps, several millions strong.

Gotrek and Felix, whose full names are Gotrek Gurnisson, a Dwarf Slayer, and Felix Jaeger, his Human chronicler native to the Empire, are a duo of warriors travelling throughout the length and breadth of the Old World and beyond, battling dark forces and stopping evil plots in Gotrek's quest for a heroic death against a suitably terrible foe.

The adventures of these warriors have been written down in the series of books known as My Travels with Gotrek by Felix Jaeger, which outlines Felix's many adventures with his maniacal comrade throughout their endeavours, recording everything till the day Gotrek finally meets his doom and will be allowed to enter the halls of his ancestors.

These disorganised groups arm themselves and follow the prophets of the Lord unto the front lines. Power Armour is a completely enclosed suit of armour, made of thick ceramite plates. The armour would be heavy and cumbersome to wear but for the electrically motivated fibre bundles within the armour, as well as the methods of direct interface such as the Black Carapace, that replicate the wearer's movement and enhance his/her strength.

The Sisters of Battle use a version of power armour designed for the human shape and size, known as Sororitas Power Armour. Sisters of Battle do not have the same Black Carapace as Space Marines do, as such some patterns of their power armour are not built with direct interface in mind, thus lacking the same benefits to strength and support systems integration.

Power armour is also favoured for use by agents of the Inquisition. These suits of armour enhance the user's strength, allow for operation in hostile environments, and include auxiliary systems such as vox-links and auto-senses.

With their vast wealth and resources, Rogue Traders are able to aqcuire power armour, whether by legal trade or illicit means on the black market, including the various armour patterns available to the Inquisition if they have the means to afford it.

The Spyrer Hunters of Necromunda are known to use extremely advanced powered armors known as Hunting Rigs.
