Story
I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

He wasn’t expecting to open his eyes, reborn on the altar. Gaia has ordered the Golems to protect humanity, but their "protection" against the environment is sending humanity to the brink of starvation. Rocky needs to find his family, and his only option is to search through survivors one by one.

The Beginning After the End: Publisher's Pack 2 contains books 3 and 4 of The Beginning After the End series, Beckoning Fates and Horizon's Edge. Though Arthur Leywin would like nothing more than to pursue his studies at the esteemed Xyrus Academy, where he hopes to push his already potent magical abilities to new plateaus and perhaps discover something more about his reincarnation into this world, he finds the politics of the school’s halls even more challenging to navigate than those of the council chambers he once inhabited as King Grey.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of the Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It’s a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a dragon. She doesn’t belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Publisher's Summary
The rules of reality have changed. All types of zombies have appeared with only one goal: Kill the living. Eric and his schoolmates must survive by adapting and growing stronger, but that's easier said than done. The undead get stronger with every passing day, and that's not even mentioning the blood moons. Even worse, the military and police seem to have disappeared. How will they acquire food? How will they survive? Find out now in this LitRPG apocalypse story.

Narrator was unfortunately lobotomized
I don’t know if this story is good. The narrator didn’t just use a monotone voice, he annunciated each syllable separately and with a half second pause. Siri sounds more alive than the characters in this audiobook. If I were ever to encounter a person that sounded like this, I would give them a piece of candy and look for whatever nurse that was supposed to keep forks out of electrical sockets.

More of a first draft.
Narrator is really kinda flat. So is the story for that matter. Really disappointing. The writing is what I would expect in a rough/first draft. I love the plot concept as I really enjoy litRPG books like Dungeon Lord/Sale on Superheroes- and I love anything zombie. So naturally I was really excited when I saw this. But this novel needs some real polish and a bit more meat on its bare bones. The story is just lacking that 3D feel that another couple of drafts might have given it.

Felt rushed
not sure if it was only the narrators fault that it felt like anything that was happening wasn't important. But to me the narrator often sounded bored, and just wanted to get it over with by plowing through parts where pauses and/or emotion were supposed to be taking place. Which I think is a bit weird, since I thought he was good at doing different voices, and he delivered certain lines with emotion. So why not all? The writing felt a bit amateurish aswell, but not to the point that it put me off too much. There were a lot of unnecessary and unnatural anime dialogue which, by the way, is put in anime to fill out the episode so they dont have to animate things that are happening. or if they think the viewer is extraordinarily stupid and need someone to explain what they just saw. So it gave the book a feeling of a low budget anime. The characters often seemed to have been born yesterday and couldn't think further than you can throw a dandelion seed. "oh no we only have 5 baseball bats! I guess everyone else will have to punch the zombies with their bare hands" or you know...use literally anything else as a weapon? Also. "what humans require most are 3 things..." Ah yes, Water, food and shelter from the elements/danger. Right? "...food, shelter and sleep" FOOD IS THE LEAST IMPORTANT OF THESE THREE!!!...sorry.. but yeah they just worry about food, never water. which you can't be without for longer than 3 days, vs 3 weeks without food... This is such a small thing to get stuck on, but somehow it really bothered me. I did not dislike the book. but not something I would recommend to someone who are used to more detailed books
