About this listen

All stars must fall.

Bloody, lost, broken. We live to fight another day. But with so much stolen from us, can the fates ever twist in our favour again?

My sister and I have been torn apart by shadows and despair, and now we each stand alone.

Our sorrow is spun like a web, trapping us tight, and I fear our enemies will soon come to feast upon our souls.

But if I have my way, the merciless sky will have dealt us its final fortune. It’s time for us to take back the power that’s been ripped from our grasp and turn the tide of this war.

All stars must fall, and all Phoenixes must rise.

Long live the Savage Queens.

This will now be book 8 of 9 in the series.

This is a dark, bully romance–don’t go expecting a sweet school for magic with friends around every corner. Fae fight for everything they own and Zodiac Academy is a cutthroat school for students aged 18+ where only the strongest prevail. There’s no Dumbledore here to save anyone’s ass and Lionel Acrux will give Voldemort a run for his money in the evil dictator category. So hold onto your stardust (broomsticks not required) and get ready for a bumpy ride.

This series has been amazing but this book is mostly filler and not in their usual style of storytelling. Picks up towards the end and the final few chapters re-captivates you but the middle is long and drawn out and was a struggle to get through. Hope book 9 is back to the fast paced story we all know and love

Mixed emotions

Sorrow and starlight by Caroline peckham and Susanne valenti. I cried for three twins in this. Both seem to have hit rock bottom, but I love how both have looked at the stars and screamed a big f$ck you to them all. Loved what Tory did and if I was in her position I would of done the same. But was so envious when she went into the massive library. Like could we just stay here for a while. Cannot wait for the final book

I honestly listened to the side character POVs at 2.5x speed. Maybe I would have appreciated them more if I’d already read the other stories set in solaria but I just wanted to know what happened. Most of the plot happened on the last 3rd of the book

It’s solid but way too many POVs

A lot of people will have mixed feeling about this book but at the end of the day it’s slither story which I loved every minute of listening too.I will say it was a bit of a roller coaster of emotions at the start and the middle but in the end it really did leave me wanting more. And as usual it’s always amazing to hear Bridget and jake so thankyou.

Loved it so much

This book still had all the seriousness and comedy as the previous. I laughed and cried and did that thing with your face when you find some hot gossip. Looking forward to seeing what the next books bring.

I keep listening to this series because I am not a quitter but honestly getting pretty hard. the twins flip flop from gallant heroes to stupid immature girls. making stupid decisions based on childish dreams.

where is the character growth??

I get so hooked reading this series and am invested with the characters and storylines.. though my emotions take a battering at the end of each book. I think the narrators dona fantastic job snd enjoy having the make/female voices. Each character is perfect, except the male voice of Leon who sounds so wrong. The only miss in an otherwise great series.

Love this series

4.5 ⭐

So here's the thing, once again, I loved this book. I think it was definitely worth reading in tandem with Beyond the Veil for the full experience for each scene. However, this is an absolute behemoth of a book and there were a few times where I felt like it was dragging a little bit and like there were a few too many POVs.

That being said, the vast majority of the book was a complex rollercoaster of love, pain and laughter. Emphasis on the pain in typical Twisted Sisters fashion.

I can't wait to get into the final book of the series, but I'm also not ready to end and I'm scared for what is in store for this incredible found family that I love so dearly.

Amazing, but too long in some parts.
