Story
When Todd’s critically damaged ship dropped out of hyperspace near the human colony world of Azure, he had no memory of his past. He didn’t know who he was, or even what he was, and the humans didn’t either. That didn’t stop the colonists of Azure - they took him in, anyway...even though they didn’t understand how he could do some of the things he could do. Todd and his descendants consider themselves human - eight-armed and water-breathing - but human, nonetheless. After 70 years living among humans, Todd’s descendants are going back out into the Union to make their mark.

Peacemakers. The Galactic Union’s most capable enforcers and resolute negotiators, their name alone elicits fear and awe among the Union’s citizenry. When necessary, the Peacemaker Guild deputizes citizens to carry out special missions of great difficulty and danger. The only person ever to land a Combat Assault System, Personal (CASPer) from high-altitude free fall without a parachute, Tara Mason’s career as a mercenary showed promise, but it crumbled under poor choices and even worse leadership
Publisher's Summary
For more than a century, Winged Hussars has been the richest of Earth's mercenary companies, as well as the only one to specialize in space warfare. Led by Alexis Cromwell, they have carved out a reputation in the galaxy for being dependable, unflappable, and lethally efficient. Until people began shooting at them everywhere they went.
Rick Culper left Earth in the hopes of finding a job as a merc. A natural at fighting in the armed suits known as CASPers, he finally caught on with one of the premier Four Horsemen companies, but it's with the Winged Hussars, and the company's prospects are beginning to look bleak.
Traps have been laid throughout a number of systems, and Commander Alexis Cromwell and her flagship, Pegasus, will be hard-pressed to make it back to their secret base. Even with Rick's help, the situation is much worse than anyone in the Hussars could have imagined. The Four Horsemen are being hunted, and the Hussars's future is dark. But there's one thing Alexis's enemies didn't count on - Alexis Cromwell is nobody's prey.

Good story bad narration
I'm sorry but mark Hinton really detracts from the book, his reading is ponderous at best, darn near impossible to listen too at times. His character variations are virtually non existent. I love this universe and all the previous books but am only going to read any future books preformed by Hinton.

Love series, but narrator let's this one down!
I loved the first two books in this series, but I struggled with through this one. The narrator is very monotone and has about two voices. The men all seem to sound the same and vise versa the women. if the narration is the same for the next book I don't know if I will be purchasing it. It might be better to read the kindal version of the next book, or better yet this one!

Where did they find these narrators?
These books could have been made much better if their narration didn’t so closely resemble a parent reading to their children. As it is, I have not found any of the first three more than barely tolerable due to this problem. I also have a problem with anyone who pronounces “nuclear” as “nucular”, which sounds ridiculously uneducated.
If the authors are reading this, please choose your narrators with better care for future writings unless your subject is a children’s book.

The narrator was awful.
The guy can’t pronounce the “tton” in the word button, and the word is used a lot. It’s not even just buttons but seemingly any word that has a t in the second half of it. His speech impediment takes you out of the story. The story itself has quite a bit of techno babel, the alien characters names get confusing, and the voice the narrator uses for the Rick character sounds like he’s mentally disabled.

Even Better than Cartwrights Cavaliers
The author mastered Ground pound, mech combat in book 1. Now He mastered Sci-fi tactical space battles.
It is truly impressive That a scifi novel can be so good without the Earth is under Alien threat! We must save HUMANITY! angle.
I would love to See a Revelations Novel where the Earth is Under attack by a fed up Alien Alliance who just couldn't seem to take down the 4 Horsemen.
The 4 Horsemen must Combine Arms... omg, chills, All Of Earth's fleets Commanded By Alexis Cromwell. Marines and Armor corps commanded by Jim Cartwright. chills. With Enlightened Tortanrulan shock troups Led by Ort. To save Humanity, Serious thousand Ship skirmish lines, with all of that Fancy, brilliant, Inertially crunchily satisfying Winged Hussars Space engagements. Sacrificial Shield Ships crewed by retirees who would die to see their grandchildren safe. lol, Hey, why not? Right? It is not a crutch or a trope, saving Humanity is the essence of Sci-fi, Ender's Game anyone? throw in Raunchy sex. Jim's friend with the brain damage should have banged everything. including the Bear People, the Mantis People, He could have discovered He could only feel by engaging in sex, The more garrish and weird the more He could feel. Push GiGi out of the saddle and give it a Go! would have been funny, the acts if Xeno Matings and rejections, and the ribbing the Humans would have given Rick.
Please lose Asbaran Solutions in a Wormhole while this happens.

Two strikes and a home run.
Another good thread in the Revelation cycle, looking forward to the next book to finish the introduction of the universe. Voice over could have been much better. The voice actor wasn't very dynamic, and there are jarringly clear instances where recordings on different equipment or settings were spliced in, and not to artistic effect.

A good sequel
Winged Hussars is the 3rd book in the Revelations Cycle series, and a part of the Four Horeseman Universe of books
If Cartwright's Cavaliers was the series finding its feet, then its sequel Asbaran Solutions was a bit of a miss step. Chris Kennedy's writing wasn't as good as Wandrey's (but still enjoyable), and thankfully, Wandrey returns for this instalment.
Winged Hussars is possibly the best book so far, and here's why
1) The story is not just "Humans are the goods guys, Aliens are the bad guys". The Winged Hussars aren't just a human merc unit, and because of that, you have a great mix of interesting and memorable characters. You also learn a lot more about some alien races, which is a bonus
2) The book has its usual mech combat elements, but a lot more is given over to space naval encounters. These are well written, and gives the series another dynamic
3) The protagonists are well-defined and fleshed out (especially the returning Rick Culper from Cartwright's Cavaliers). Both heroes are likeable, and their stories compelling
4) The narration (for the audible release) is much better than Asbaran (even though the narrator threw me a bit with his pronunciation of "strafing"
Easily a 4.5

Good story but the narration is a bit strange. It sounds like two people have been edited together which makes listening unpleasant.
