Publisher's Summary

Join the fun in this soapy serial as Will & Patrick's fake marriage turns into true love! Written by best-selling author Leta Blake and newcomer Alice Griffiths!

Episode One: "Will and Patrick Wake Up Married"

After a drunken night of hot sex in Vegas, strangers Will Patterson and Dr. Patrick McCloud wake up married. A quickie divorce is the most obvious way out — unless you’re the heir of a staunchly Catholic mafia boss with a draconian position on the sanctity of marriage. Throw their simmering attraction into the mix and all bets are off!

Episode Two: "Will and Patrick Meet the Family"

Meeting the family is challenging for every new couple. But for Will and Patrick, the awkward family moments only grow more hilarious - and painful - when they must hide the truth of their predicament from the people they care about most. Throw in the sexual tension flaring between them and you've got a recipe for madcap laughs and surprisingly heartwarming feels.

Episode Three: "Will and Patrick Do the Holidays"

A couple’s first holiday season is always a special time. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve are magical when you’re in love. Too bad Will and Patrick’s marriage is a sham and they’re only faking their affection for each other. Or are they? Sparks fly in this episode of the Wake Up Married serial. Will the sexual tension between Will and Patrick finally explode in a needy night of passion? Or will they continue to deny their feelings?

Episode Four: "Will and Patrick Fight Their Feelings"

Will and Patrick have embraced adding hot sexy-times to their fake marriage, but as their emotions deepen, they confront whether or not they want to be more than friends-with-benefits. The heat is high (and occasionally kinky) as Will and Patrick struggle to accept their mutual affection.

Episode Five: "Will and Patrick Meet the Mob"

Patrick has finally accepted that he's in love with Will, but his newfound determination to do something about that runs up against his father-in-law's mobster plans. Will must face the truth about his family before he can fully come to terms with his feelings for Patrick. And Patrick has to decide if this whackadoodle world is something he truly wants to be part of forever.

Episode Six: "Will and Patrick's Happy Ending"

Sure, Will and Patrick are in love now, but they weren’t when they got married in Vegas. For Patrick, that’s no problem, but Will can’t shake his doubts that a relationship started through coercion can ever become the real deal. Since the Molinaro crime family has reversed their position on divorce, Will and Patrick have a chance to rectify their drunken mistake. But is divorce the right choice for them?

Eh!

Kind of sorry I spent the $20.00 on this book (s).

Dear lord it's slow and boring, really boring. The summary is wrong, so so wrong, It's not fun. It's angsty very mush so. Will, one of the main characters, is clueless as to the emotional abuse he sustained at the hands of his ex boyfriend. I don't mind Patrick, the other main character he tells you exactly what is going on and how he feels.

If I could get back my money I would, $20.00, is a lot. Oh, well I may finish listening to one day, but that day is not today.

Beautiful!

I had waited for a long time to read this set of novellas and it was well worth the wait! Leta Blake is a master storyteller and combine her wonderful talent with John Solo's narration and you have a dynamite combination! It was touching, hilarious, moving and just fantastic...loved every second of it.

So worth it!

I will admit, I was iffy at first. 25 hours of the same two characters. Overall, it was totally worth it. Yes, out of 25 hours there were parts that lagged, parts that I lost interest, but I listened to a couple of sweet parts over and over.

I loved that Patrick started off the series as this ego-fueled domineering jerk and ended the series with me loving his domineering ways. It just showed how much he wanted what was best for Will.

I also loved Will's journey of finding himself, learning about who he was and who he wants to be. It seems like a large dose of words for listening to at once, but one you start it, you won't want to put the series down!

Great all atound

I loved this series. The story was written so well. I hate Ryan and greatly dislike Will's mom and his uncle, but I greatly enjoyed the other characters. I so loved watching Will and Patrick's journeys together and separately. The author did an awesome job.

Just settle in

And be prepared for a binge listen that is totally worth it. I loved reading this series and I've said it before a truly great audiobook just enhances the experience, which is what you get here. Solo performs this exactly how I envisioned it in my head and having the entire series all together is more than one could have hoped! Blake is a master of the slow burn and there is more than one kind of slow burn. You will dislike Patrick, then you'll love him. You'll want to shake Will multiple times and tell a few to just butt out but in the end it all works out perfectly!

Will and Patrick a sexy love story

Ok since all the parts are smooshed together it makes for an epic long audio BUT it’s worth it to have it all in one shot!
John Solo’s is perfectly perfect as the narrator for this series. He captured the essence of Patrick and Will! I’ll be honest it took me awhile to warm up to Will. BUT seeing him through Patrick’s eyes made me fall in love with him too...well eventually. Patrick is my favorite character! His grumpy exterior and his mushy interior were just what I wanted in a complex character.

Also...I’m trying to decide which character I loathed the most.. the meddlesome Owen or the emotionally abusive Ryan.
I kept hoping a bus 🚌 would come out of nowhere and hit them both. Continually, running them over multiple times into a bloody pulp. Sadly, this did not happen.
And Will’s mom is no prize either. She gives Patrick’s dad a run for his money in the worst parent ever award. Both are just ugh.

But back to Will and Patrick.., they do get their HEA and it’s a bit frustrating at first but that serves a purpose to make the pay off that much more satisfying, loved the story and narration!

4.5 stars- The hype around this book is deserved

Not going to lie, at the start, I wasn’t so sure this story would be a good fit for me. The characters and characterizations felt overblown, the story a bit silly, and quite frankly, I didn’t really care for Will or Patrick at first glance. I was wrong, so wrong. The hype is deserved. The good thing about longer books is time is on the author’s side. As the story and characters had time and space to develop, things came together and I found myself completely hooked less than a third of the way through. Will and Patrick Wake Up Married ended up being a fantastic listen and one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

My first impression of Patrick wasn’t the best, but by the end he was a favorite (as in ever, not just within this book). I liked that readers get to see Patrick develop beyond his initial egocentric, socially inept persona. I liked that we were given an opportunity to learn and understand where he came from and why he was the way he was. And I LOVED that I got to see how having a place to belong exposed parts of Patrick he fought to keep hidden without changing him as a person. As the book closed, I found those moments that bugged me at first endearing, because I now knew him and loved him. I found Will difficult to like for a completely different reason. Whereas Patrick was abrasive, Will was a pushover. I’m not a fan of doormat characters and it irked me to see Will defer to so many people in his life, most especially his ex. As with Patrick, time gave me a new view on Will. However, I think it was Will’s development and progression, gaining confidence and asserting himself increasingly, that really changed my opinion…and it was an awesome thing to witness. Rarely do I see two “meh” characters make such a turnaround, but here they did. Not only did my understanding and appreciation for them evolve, but both Will and Patrick substantially changed over the course of the book and I loved that it happened slowly. As a reader I don’t mind working for my happily-ever-afters, and that’s what it felt like in Will and Patrick Wake Up Married. Nothing is rushed, everything is earned.

As much as I liked these two men’s individual development, I really enjoyed them together. Their romance was a bumpy ride that went a little sideways at times, but it hit on every emotion. It was fun and made me smile and laugh…a lot. There was a surprising level of heat that felt natural rather than just a plot device to create buzz. And there were plenty of sweet, swoonworthy moments that had me sighing. Heck, I even cried a couple times because I was so emotionally invested in these men. Simply put, I grew to adore Will and Patrick and had an increasingly hard time turning the audio off. The narrator was a perfect match, injecting emotion and personality into every scene as well as delivering some blistering hot moments. If you love quirky characters or odd love matches are in need of humor and heat, Will and Patrick Wake Up Married is a must read or listen.

Absolutely captivating!

Will and Patrick wake up married is definitely an appropriate title. Waking up married caused major problems for do gooder Will and neurosurgeon Patrick. Due to a codicil in a will, they can't get divorced. This audio kept me captivated, laughing, and waiting for the next thing to fall! The new to me narrator has absolute distinction between characters, and nails Patrick's snark and literal interpretations. I highly recommend!

Even better on audio!

So I had already read and loved this series, but my rating just went up with the audio. John Solo does such a fantastic job at bringing these characters and their love to light that their story is just that much more amazing. With the audio you can feel the hurt, the laughter, and all the love. It’s one of those stories I’ll be returning to over and over again.

All the feelings!!! I loved Will & Patrick!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 stars
🔥🔥🔥🔥 Heat Level: 4
🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 5+

All the feelings!!! I loved Will & Patrick!

Episode 1: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married
A great start and a funny take on a vegas wedding. I liked the backward way about this series in that they get married and then have to fake being ‘really’ married. It makes for some hilarious moments and surprising twists. I really loved the way these characters were introduced and fell for both Will and Patrick from the get-go!

Episode 2: Will & Patrick Meet the Family
A funny take on meet the parents with some fantastic characters thrown in; I love Will’s Grandma and ‘original housemate’. While Will’s mother frustrated me to no end, I really hope she improves and Will can finally stand up for himself. I really enjoyed the simmering tension and chemistry brewing between Will and Patrick and I can’t wait for it to explode!!

Episode 3: Will & Patrick Do the Holidays
Finally, the sexual tension explodes and lights the pages on fire!!
I felt for Will and Patrick throughout the holidays, as Patrick faces feelings he never felt before, and WIll faces his d*#k-headed ex who just keeps on causing/abusing Will at every turn. I hope Will can finally move past all this and find something better with someone he’s married too. P.s. I also loved the approach to Patrick’s ASD spectrum; it’s well done, addressed and respectful on the spectrum!

Episode Four: Will & Patrick Fight Their Feelings
I was surprised how deep and dynamic the pair became and as their relationship adds some serious heat, emotions become entangled and they both face some new challenges. I loved Patrick’s character development over these last few episodes and seeing him fall in love for the first time was wonderful. I enjoyed learning so much more about him and his past, my heart broke.

Episode Five: Will & Patrick Meet the Mob
They meet the Mob with a bang, some serious stress, and a dangerous decline for Will. The Mob elements were hard to fathom throughout this with Will being who he is. His father was better than expected and thankfully Patrick didn’t take any crap from such a dangerous man. All in all, I was thankful for Will finally standing up to his mother as she definitely needed a what for and it couldn’t come soon enough. I was saddened by her attitude and interference and overall opinion of Will. She didn’t even try to know him. He is more than his disease and addiction!

Episode Six: Will & Patrick’s Happy Ending
Oh, my heart! A powerful, sad but wonderful ending to such great characters! I really enjoyed the journey and while I hated the ‘separation’ I understood. I loved Patrick’s countdown and his need to help Will however he can. With a devastating loss for one of his patients, we were able to finally meet Patrick’s family and thankfully Will and Patrick were able to face, acknowledge and accept their feelings and start/continue their unique connection and relationship. A wonderful HEA and there is just so much more to these two than meets the eye!!!

Fantastic narration for such wonderful characters! I loved it all!!!

Thanks for reading!

Will and Patrick's story is so enjoyable and fascinating. As their story unfolds, you will find yourself not waiting to stop listening. You have a little bit of everything and it is incredible.

Vegas Love Story

This was the best Vegas love story I've ever listened to. I love Will and Patrick. They are complete opposites that have to learn to deal with each other. John's voicing these characters is amazing.

Great narration, amateur storytelling

This story is told in the present tense, which I find completely jarring and unpleasant. Combined with the extremely far-fetched premise and the oodles of melodrama contained within, the story part of the equation comes across as being a very amateur attempt at writing. The only thing I really like about the story is that addiction is presented in a realistic fashion and the authors show how addicts are perceived and treated and how that treatment and perception often makes the addiction worse. The rest of the story I could do without.

John Solo's narration is as good as usual. His neutral voice is pleasant and his characterizations are distinct and on-point. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend this audiobook to anyone personally, I do think there's an audience for it out there. Anyone who likes a super angsty or melodramatic read with over the top villains and cheesy soap opera premises is going to like this.

OMG, John Solo's performance is fantastic!

I have heard so many good things about the Will and Patrick series, and it's been on my TBR list for quite a while. When it finally came out as an audiobook, I couldn't wait any longer to read it.

I think this is one of those stories that I might not have liked nearly as much if I'd read it. The writing and story are great but I just don't think I would have heard the individual characters as distinctly in my own mind as I did while listening to John's performance. And it truly is a performance. Each character has a distinct voice and the way he conveys the depth of emotion that each of them feels is just amazing.

I'm not going to restate the book's blurb. It does lack some information that I think was kind of significant but I'm afraid it would be too much of a spoiler to reveal it, which is probably why it's not in the blurb. 😊 The main thing for me was that I found the story engaging due to the excellent voice acting by John Solo. I can't say enough good things about how much I LOVED his performance of this story. The emotions he conveyed with his voice really allowed me to feel what the characters were feeling.

One of the MC's, Patrick, is not very likeable at all but I was able to ignore (for the most part) how much of a jerk he is. Fortunately, as the story went along, my opinion of him improved. Patrick progressed from being pretty much unlikable in episode one to being my favorite character by the end of episode six. I was sobbing in some places for what his character goes through but there are also light-hearted moments. And the sexy time? OMG what these two guys get up to. They are a bit on the kinky side but nothing too outrageous.

Will is really sweet but he becomes a tiger when dealing with his douchebag of a father – who, by the end, maybe ends up not being as much of a douchebag as I first thought. I love the voice that John does for Will's father.

This is an audiobook that I could see myself listening to again (something I rarely do because I have way too many books on my TBR list). I only have a few super favorite audiobook performers but that short list has now been increased by one.

To wrap up this kind of disjointed review, I would recommend this audiobook for the wonderful performance alone, but it's also a very enjoyable story.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
