Wild For Sure!!

Jackson and his brother Cooper owed a photographer Studio in NYC. They came in contact everyday with beautiful women everyday and they took advantage of it sexually. Jackson and his best friend Erica, called Laney, had been having sex since high school. She always ran to Jackson when she had troubles. Her current boyfriend had asked her to marry him and he knew about Jackson. Jackson and Laney went on a camping trip for her birthday together. The heat between them was electric! The hottest I have ever encountered. The narrator was over the top hot! Great job Melissa and Paul!

Holy Hotness!

I've read Jackson previously and loved him so much I decided to get the audio version as well. No regrets whatsoever. Paul Woodson does an amazing job at bringing these characters and their super sexy scenes to life! I'm so impressed with his ability to relay the character's emotions so clearly.

Oh, and chapter 5...whoa! Totally my favorite scene!

Not really my cup of tea.

What’s it About? Longtime friends Jackson Wild and Erica “Laney” Lane have had a friends with benefits relationship for years and it’s worked for them so far. Then Laney gets a marriage proposal from her boyfriend right before she leaves on her annual camping trip with Jackson but instead of jumping for joy, she jumps right into Jackson’s bed. The camping trip takes a different turn as Jackson and Laney start to realize that their friends with benefits relationship can’t continue indefinitely.

I hate to do this because I usually love Foster’s work but I had to slam the brakes on this one. I get the edgier and sexier vibe that the author was going for with this series but I just couldn’t figure this one out.

I thought they both came across as selfish and a little cold and when it came to Jackson, Laney was a pushover and let him get away with too much.

Here’s the thing, Jackson and Laney definitely loved each other, they knew it, they owned it, but they don’t realize that they’re in love with each other in the “I’m all in and it’s going to be you for me and me for you for the rest of time” sense. I think that’s what this short story is about, their journey from just sex buddies and friendship to something more meaningful and permanent.

The plot was a little unbelievable to me and I know that this is fiction but I do need to believe in the characters and the story being told and that didn’t happen here. I just couldn’t get past the way Jackson and Laney disregarded other people’s feelings because of their friends with benefits bit going on.

This is the first time I’ve heard Paul Woodson and while I may not have enjoyed the story I did enjoy the way he narrated the book. His voice is easy on the ears yet still has a way of getting a person’s attention with minimal effort.

Click It or Skip It? I’m going to be honest, I didn’t care for Jackson very much but it’s one of those stories that really depends on the reader’s preference. I’m going to Skip It but if you’re okay with open relationships then buy all means Click It and have fun.

When do you stop fighting friendship-love?

Jackson had a problem. Laney was his best friend. Laney was his occasional booty-call. Laney was his camping partner. Laney was about to be married. Or is she? I enjoyed the story for the quick read that it was but wanted more of the story. Jackson was a male with male tendencies. He was also lying to himself. Laney was a woman that knew what she wanted but was willing to settle for something that would just be getting by. To be the best of friends they missed the mark on communication. Of all the Wild Boys in this first part of the series, Jackson's story was a let down. It was sexy and a bit hot, but for me I did not feel connected to Jackson or Laney. They were just a stop-gap filler. Paul Woodson was on performance. He brought to life the story that was short and for me simple. He gave the story the extra.

Somewhat Light in the Story Area

I listened to this book. The narration was good. I was surprised at the length of the audiobook. It seemed to be over fairly quickly. It was an OK read. I did like the premise. I liked both Jackson and Laney. I did think Laney was a little intense, but that seemed to be right up Jackson's alley. They were a true match. I did like the way they seemed to know each other so well, and we're so comfortable together. This book felt like a rush through their relationship. I'm glad that there was not a ton of angst, and they moved through the difficult parts pretty quickly. I do wish that Laney's conversation with Brandon had been written in to the book. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that one. I also wish there had been more written about Brandon and Laney's aging interaction. You only got to have a vague idea about Brandon from Laney's perspective, not any actual engagement of them as a couple It was an OK listen. A little over 3 hours. The first two books seemed to be longer with more detail.

Friends with Benefits

Boys after Dark: Jackson This is the 3rd audiobook in the Wild Boys after Dark series. They can all be stand alone. Very hot and steamy series. Jackson Wild and Erica Lane aka Laney have been friends since high school. They have had a friends with benefits relationship. That has worked perfectly until Laney gets proposed to. This book is a perfect example of you dont know what you got til its gone!! Great job Melissa Foster on another great book. Paul Woodson did a great job with narration.

Jackson

I enjoyed this one and had it playing while driving which let me set the cruise and handle the traffic...Jackson and Laney have had a friends with benefits relationship for years and they rely on each other to be there for their special needs that only each other provide but when Laney receives a marriage proposal from her current boyfriend all bets are off. Will this be the catalyst to wake them up to what they really have? This was a good one!

Wild Boys: Jackson

The narration for this audio was great. His voice is smooth and sexy and fits the story exceptionally. Jackson & Laney have been friends since childhood, their sexual relationship has been going on just as long, but they aren’t dating. They each turn to each other constantly but neither will commit to the other. That is until Laneys boyfriend proposes to her and they both realize that they have been denying the truth to themselves too long. I Love the book, and I love the series!!!!

Wild Hotness!

The authors forward expresses the erotic nature of this series and it was point on with this installment. This was actually a very quick, hot & sexy read. I would say this was the hottest story of this series so far. Laney and Jackson were very sexy together. This couple had been friends with benefits since high school. It's hard to believe they would be able to function in any capacity with no commitments to one another, and having flings with others all the time, but a proposal brought everything back to where it should have been. No inhibitions in this couple, for sure. The ending was a bit abrupt to me, but that's probably because we'll hear more about them in upcoming books. The narrator was great again and I loved hearing his voice throughout the story. Perfect for Jackson's character. So, another win for this author.

Hot and Steamy, Friends to Lovers Romance!

This third addition to the Wild Boys After Dark is a hot, friends to lovers romance. Jackson and Laney are close friends with smoking hot benefits, no strings and no relationships. But Laney does have a sweet man, Bryce, who she dates. When Bryce proposes before Laney leaves with Jackson on their annual camping trip, it changes everything. I really enjoyed Jackson and Laney's reflection on their history while out in the wild. You can feel their strong connection, explosive chemistry, and their love making is so passionate. But the proposal hangs heavy over them both, and this crossroads could change everything. I enjoyed Paul Woodson's narration. His voice is smooth yet expressive, setting each scene beautifully, and bringing these characters to life, making this quick listen, totally captivating.

the girl next door.

What made the experience of listening to Wild Boys After Dark: Jackson the most enjoyable?

it was brilliant I had a more visual journey and it was nice to have a different narrator the experience was different has the relationship with Jackson and laney was hot. he struggles with his feeling for and believes he is not good enough for her.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wild Boys After Dark: Jackson?

when they go camping you can see both battling heart ache and they don't know how to over come it they are putting everything in and trying to cover the heart break.

What does Paul Woodson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

its more exciting and he performs this book like theatre. But also his voice was smooth and charisma and each scene brought more meaning to the book . you had more of a visual journey with laney and Jackson.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

my girl next door.

Cold Shower required ;)

Where does Wild Boys After Dark: Jackson rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

My favourite. Jackson is the ultimate male who defines sex on legs.

What did you like best about this story?

The friends to lovers storyline, I love those stories.

Which character – as performed by Paul Woodson – was your favourite?

Jackson definitely.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I needed a cold shower afterwards, does that count? ;)

Any additional comments?

WOW!!! I loved this story and the words being read out.... phew!!!!

I love friends to lovers stories and this one was no exception.

Jackson and Lanie continuously fight their feelings but an event makes them look at these in bigger detail.

They are best friends who care deeply for one another and they tell each other everything but the most important, they love each other.

I highly recommend this audio book.

Another fab story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this along with all of the Wild Boys books to a friend. They are pure escapism, beautifully written and spoken.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the road Jackson and Laney find themselves on as they begin their journey towards their happy ever after.

Any additional comments?

It is great to be able to read a story about two long time friends who slowly begin to realise that they are so much more. Jacksons side is written very well, Melissa has got inside his head well to get across his emotions and thoughts. Laney is strong and scared about giving in to herself to allow herself to be happy with Jackson. It is brilliantly written, and I could not stop listening to it :)
