About this listen

In modern maternity systems, one in four women have their labor induced. Why Induction Matters provides a comprehensive, evidence-based guide to this common intervention. The induction process is explained in detail, and reasons for offering induction are discussed. Options related to inducing labor or choosing to wait are explored, and women's experiences are included throughout. The book aims to help parents make their own informed decisions about induction of labor.

Must read for expectant women given the medical system is not built to support our ability as women to birth naturally but rather built around a framework to support the system - that is different dependant on the stakeholders throughout the system you choose… time on a ward, cost/income, markers for perceived “risk” which may be normal/natural for birth, or outdated based on research. Educating yourself matters.

This resource is so helpful when understanding and making decisions around induction. I wish it was standard practice to be given this book when asked to make decisions around induction, I have not found a better resource. The clear narration of this audiobook was a joy to listen to at a difficult decision-making time.

Clearly explained excellent narration

A really wonderful recommendation from my midwife. This will be my second birth of a small for gestational age baby whom is currently very healthy and tracking well. For this I have always been recommended induction and was lucky enough to go into spontaneous labour with my first! I wanted to be better prepared for the chance of induction second time around and be better informed, so as not to just 'follow protocol'. This audio book has me feeling well educated and equipped. Highly recommend.

Very informative, easy to digest, and with real stories sprinkled in
