I really do love this series
Although the last instalment (One Foot in the Fade) was probably the weakest and left me feeling like maybe the magic had run its course (pun intended) I am so glad I stuck through for this one. Fetch is just such a brilliant character. Such a lovably unlovable anti-hero, and he's slow dawning self-realisation in this latest novel was brilliant to listen to, never mind the sheer thrill of a good solid murder mystery plot line. Luke Arnold as ever a brilliant narrator as well as author.

This matches the tone and pacing of the earlier books while evolving its themes as Fetch and Sunder City have evolved. At this point in the series, the overarching narrative coheres a little further; there's a few recurring characters that we're already familiar with, as well as some additions that help flesh out the setting further. It's also really well-performed, with characters having distinctly recognisable voices in a way that enhances the written version. Eagerly awaiting the next instalment!

I enjoy this series. Luke is a talented author and exceptional voice actor. This one left me a little unsatisfied, but I still look forward to the next book.
