Publisher's Summary
Alicen McAffery finally has the life her mother always dreamed for her: a beautiful home in Santa Monica, a successful husband, and an adorable daughter. Then tragedy blows her carefully assembled facade to pieces. Worse yet - Alicen feels solely responsible.
At rock bottom, she decides to accompany a childhood friend back to Red Lodge, Montana, where they spent summers together as kids. The peaceful mountain landscape, accented with lush forests and small-town charm, brings back happy memories of time spent with her beloved, eccentric Grandma Josephine. Alicen begins to hope that perhaps things could be different here. Perhaps the oppressive guilt will lift - if only for a moment.
But when Alicen starts hearing voices and seeing mysterious figures near the river in the woods, she begins to fear she's completely lost her sanity, as it's rumored her grandmother did. Or might there be more to Red Lodge than meets the eye? Could the voices and visions be real - and her only means of finding the healing she so desperately needs? Or will they prove to be her final undoing?

Bravo bravo bravo
This was a wonderfully refreshing book with the perfect narrator. Thank you Rachelle and I am so looking forward to future books by you. Your truly are your Daddy’s daughter with your artistic ability to write love and forgiveness in your story. I enjoyed the references to some of your Daddy’s books as well. More more more please

a book with a purpose
This was a good story I love a book with a purpose, or message but it was very slow moving. When the action did start it didn't gain very much momentum. The book seemed to jump too much between the two main characters. If you are not paying close attention you might get a bit lost and we all know how life gets in the way sometimes. Even though she tied up the Loose Ends I was not satisfied with it ending.... I love books that I would go back to and read again, and this is not one of them but I don't regret reading it.

Great listen
Rather compelling and kept my interest piqued from beginning to end! Great narrator which makes or breaks the book, in my opinion.

Look out Ted
Excellent read. This is the third of Rachelle's books that I have read and have really enjoyed all of them. This one particularly encouraged me because I too deal with some of those accusing voices, even after having been a believer for nearly 40 years. The truths that she spoke over and over here ministered to my spirit. Daddy Ted Dekker may have some competition, but I'm guessing he won't mind.

Too long and redundant
I Struggled to finish; the build up was slow and the resolution too fast. The reader was a little dry.

Different
This is the first time listening to a Christian base thriller. I don't like thrillers and probably would not have tried it, but one of the reviews was so upset that it was a Christian based story, I thought I'd try it. I enjoyed it because it talked of forgiveness and redemption. The storyline and narrator were very good.

A tough subject tackled well
I like the subtle links to her father's books. The subject matter is hard to listen to at first for obvious reasons but the teaching held within this book is well worth the discomfort.
