Publisher's Summary

Three months have passed since the eccentric Hermit agreed to take Roy and Aika on as students. Now, the time has come for them to leave the forest and return to civilization. Neither Roy nor Aika know what to expect in the Itachi capital, but with their powerful teacher by their sides, they reluctantly agree to venture into the city.

With all the time that has passed, they don't know how many powerful players are now on the board, nor the looming threat posed by a gathering of monstrous Beasts. The Sovereign of the Herald Clan has also learned that his son is alive and has ordered that he be returned by any means necessary.

Roy faces many challenges, most of which Geon believes he will fail. The Dungeon is far from happy that Roy has yet to kill the people on his hit list, and he makes his displeasure known. Daily. The path to Green-Belt will not be an easy one, but if Roy wants to succeed in his ultimate goal, he will need to fight harder than ever before.

Small story progression, decent power progression.

I think I enjoyed this the least of all the books so far. Not sure what it was, but I didn't feel the same as I did the first 2. It could be just me, but this felt like a side quest from the half way mark on which hit me the wrong way. Small story progression but decent power progression. Its ok, but I am going to wait until there is 2 to read at a time from this point on to get a better fix and avoid at least 1 cliffhanger.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

I really enjoy these stories. While they're not Dickens, the character development is real, and you come to care for those in the story as they struggle, fail, and succeed. Definitely worth the time for anyone who enjoys this genre. Also, this narrator is one of the better ones I've heard.

Where is the progression? What was the point?

I can’t get over how much smoke gets blowed in some of these book reviews. I get that some weak authors need constant reassurance so they can continue writing however there needs to be room for honesty. This book is complete filler no real story progression. Not only that it set up the next book to literally be jumping the whole time from different points of view and not getting anywhere. Yes, levels were gained but did anything get answered? Did we move forward in the story? Is the point of this book that levels got gained and that’s good enough? Literally they were stuck in a pocket dimension the whole time and it felt like the same scenario just kept repeating with a different monster what was the point. What was unique, what was original, and what made it captivating. Felt more like it should’ve been a side quest. Any story progression gained in this could’ve been gained while training with Hermit between books. I hope the next book is better than the build up for it feels like it’s going to be. If you are about to use your last credit on this book, my advice is wait until the next book comes out. At that time get both as this book alone isn’t satisfying.

Very enjoyable

Very enjoyable series so far. I like the way the plot combines martial arts, personal struggles, a detailed magic system. Ĺooking forward to seeing the protagonist overcoming their unwanted visitor.

Another enjoyable instalment in this series

This is not a self-contained book, if considering this book you should read the earlier ones in the series first, well worth doing since they are also very enjoyable too. This latest instalment progresses both the plot and the main characters in a suitably interesting manner that will ensure that fans of the previous books enjoy this one too and if they are like me, have them looking forward to book four as well. The performance of the narrator helps to bring the story to life with a tone that is both pleasant and sufficiently distinctive to handle the varied cast. Overall, another strong entry in this series. [Note - I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.]
