I adore this series and the voice acting, but WOW things got dark this instalment! this one doesn't have a HFN to tide you over. I'm really glad I have the next book lined up and ready to read. I hope one day this series gets enough love to be adapted into a TV series, it deserves it.

This book seemed to have a slower pace than the first two but was definitely not less engaging or impactful because of it.
Not sure if call it a cliffhanger ending but it's certainly adjacent. The ending kinda snuck up on me too and after an ending like that I'm going to purchase and start the next book. Otherwise I know I won't be able to sleep from thinking about it.

Another brilliant entry in this exciting series. The third book takes another journey, this time to find the dead God. Each book has followed a similar structure, but each feels really fresh and at no time do you feel that this is just another re-hash of the same journey. What help I think is the great mix of contemporary with standard fantasy tropes. When the story started and our heroes travelled to the next land, I thought I had the residents of the new country pegged, only to be surprised as they revealed themselves throughout the action. The side characters are again really interesting and our heroes do unexpected things, sometimes morally ambiguous, which helps to keep it fresh.
It is great having a main antagonist and villain showing up at every step. Sort of ups the ante a lot! On to the next!!
Again Kale Williams narration is spot on as he voices 4 main characters and a lot of ancillary ones too.
