Publisher's Summary

Go zero to 60 in this dangerously sexy novel from number-one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan. The Torpedo Ink motorcycle club has its relationships put to the test in this gritty, suspenseful new installment of the series as members seek to build new lives - and find love - in the community of Sea Haven.

Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club - and now that she’s out, she’s never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who chose his club over her and left her feeling used and alone.

As vice president of Torpedo Ink, Steele is ride or die for the brothers with whom he lived through hell. He never thought he’d find something as pure as his feelings for Breezy or that keeping her safe would mean driving her away with cruel words that turned her love for him to ash.

Now, Steele won’t let her walk away twice. He’ll do whatever it takes to make Breezy his woman again - especially when he learns the real reason she came to him for help and that the stakes are higher than he ever could have imagined....

Well worth listening to

I cant begin to tell you how good this story was to listen to. It is a emotional book to say the least. I wont spoil and give away to much, but these characters are excellent. And through the power of the narrator he tells the story like we are watching a scene unfolding..... beautiful

Bummed by the outcome of this book

so, here's the thing, I Love CF she is an amazing author. I love how intense the stories and characters are. My hang up with this book stemmed from the fact that this series is a spin off of a previous series which was a spin off of a previous series and while I hoped the excitement of previous storylines would continue, this book was boring. Nearly 14 hours of listening to the two characters inner dialogue about the horrible things that happened to them, and how that's why they are the way they are, but instead of them talking about this the entire first 2/3 of the books was a back and forth of you belong to me let me explain vs. you kicked me out you didnt want me. There was about 20 minutes of actual action and then you get another 2 hours of emotional drama. While I appreciate the horrific pasts each character has survived, I think the series would maintain its excitement with an even split of emotional drama and action. I loved the last 3-4 hours of the book even with the lack of action in the last 2 hours. But a lot of the middle should have been left out or switched to keep up the nail biting adrenaline endusing plot that I expect and love from CF.
I will prolly read the next in the series because I'm invested with these characters but I really hope the next novel has more action!

Didn’t gut punch me as much as book one!

This series is definitely very different from most of the MC genre. They are a club, they have their club tats and colors, they love to ride and they give all to the brotherhood. However, they differ that they also include sisters, in their brotherhood. Yes, they do have some women members that are treated completely equal. Don’t get me wrong, they still have old ladies and a few club whores but, rather than being used and abused, these women are cherished and protected. This does not mean that there isn’t overbearing alpha males that always think they know best; there are.

The biggest difference in this club is that it is not made up of a ragtag group of vets and anti-conformists that share common interests. This group is made up of former abused children Assassins. Their stories are tales of horrific pedophilia and their death defying fight for freedom. If you are sensitive or have sexual triggers, skip this series. This group of bikers all suffer from PTSD and have severe social dysfunctions, making a normal mainstream life impossible.
Their group goal is to use their training to take down traffickers and child abusers and then set the victims free. Why is this so bothersome? It’s the method not the goal that may turn most listeners off; its violent, very brutally violent. I’m not sure why book one bothered me more. I suspect it is because it was the first time I was exposed to tales of their lives and their vigilante justice.

Sound similar to Kristen Ashley’s Chaos MC series? No, KA’s series is more like a G rated version of this series. I enjoyed it but I suspect that many listeners will not, due to the dark intensity of this series.

mildly disappointed

I LOVE feehan and ALL of her Drake sisters, bound, and was LOVING torpedo ink, but this book left something to be desired. it didn't pull me in. it almost feels like she was on auto pilot writing this one. I hope the next one lives up to her usual greatness.

Not the best.

I am always eager to read a new Christine Feehan book in this or the Dark series. This one was disappointing. It was so slow because of all the time spent retelling and retelling what the brothers went through in their earlier years. I realize Steel coming to grips with his issues was part of the trajectory of the story, but I just wanted to jump ahead every time the story got to another retelling of the experiences in the school. It was a struggle to finish this one.

This has to be the worst book by Christine Feehan I have ever read. It was not worth my money or time. Very disappointing.

Not a big fan of the narrator

I really wish that Jim would work on his voices rather then sounding like the same person is always talking. At least try a little man!

find the good from the bad

Christine Feehan brings us another tortured soul and the woman who stole his heart. I love these bad ass bikers while, at the same time, my heart breaks at the abuse they were forced to endure. These characters and their story will sweep you right back into the lives of the members of Torpedo Inc. Jim Frangione knows exactly how to portray their feelings and suck you in.

Good story line but too much porn.

I have enjoyed many of Christine Feehan's books but this one has decended into porn in my opinion. The story line is good but I really don't wish to hear (or read) over 40 minutes of fairly hardcore porn before the story line resumes for a few minutes.......then the hero and heroine are at it again for another 30 minutes!! Considering that this previously estranged couple have only reunited to find their 2 year old toddler son who has been kidnapped by paedophiles, I find this level of explicit sex gratuitous and unlikely. It detracts from a potentially good story line.

Too much

I like hot sex in my books but the pages and pages of repetitive sex was, in my opinion, totally unnecessary and detracted from the plot. The characters were, as is usual with Christine’s books, really well drawn but the long drawn out gratuitous sex scenes spoiled it for me.

Sadly A Great Disappointment

I struggled wuth this one. Usually the sex contributes to the story but this is just gratuitous. Completely lost the sense of the story. Pity because the whole plot surrounding the rescue of a small boy could have been very interesting. I always look forward to Feet and books. This is just formulaic.
