Publisher's Summary

Finding undiscovered treasures is always daring, dangerous, and deadly. Perfect for the men and women of Treasure Hunter Security.

After a mission gone terribly wrong, former Navy SEAL Hale Carter has made a good career for himself at Treasure Hunter Security. He gets to use his engineering skills designing new gadgets, his SEAL skills providing security for exciting expeditions and treasure hunts, and he enjoys a variety of ladies on his downtime. He might still be plagued by nightmares, but all in all, life is good. Then he volunteers for a dangerous undercover mission into the Kalahari Desert, alongside a cool, attractive FBI agent who challenges him at every turn.

Special Agent Elin Alexander is driven to bring down the deadly black-market antiquities ring Silk Road. She's experienced firsthand how they destroy lives and she's vowed to end their greed and killing. After months of undercover work, she's eager for the mission to find the Lost City of the Kalahari. What she wasn't expecting was six-feet-three inches of former Navy SEAL as her partner. Hale is too handsome, too sexy, and isn't inclined to follow orders.

As the pair infiltrate the Silk Road hunt, Hale and Elin find themselves fighting a scorching attraction as they work to discover just what the lost city is hiding. But stuck in the bowels of a legendary ancient mine, Hale and Elin must put their trust in each other, to not only save the day, but to get out alive.

Never disappointed by Anna Hackett

I honestly don’t know if I can think of a more consistent author. And while her books are formulaic in a good way, they really never run together like some series. And all her series are great. This one is no different. If I’m ever in need of an afternoon of sexy escapist romantic adventures, I will choose Anna Hackett every time bc she *never* lets me down. I hope she turns these out forever. I like Stella Bloom’s narration a lot. She does a great job!

Love it

Love the story and love the narrator. Super fast listen. Stella Bloom does an awesome job on each of the characters voices so there was no confusing parts about who was talking.

Always a good read

Love this series! It always has such depth and back story (even if we don't necessarily know what all the things are yet). I would read anything by this author. This installment of the THS series follows Hale, the ex SEAL and resident gadget man of the group as he teams up with agent Elin Alexander in an undercover mission inflating Silk Road's latest search for treasure in Africa. This time it is the hunt for Ophir, the legendary city where king Solomon mined all his riches and possibly hid some of his more valued possessions...like the ark of the covenant and his own ring, which is supposed to have magical qualities. The question is, will Elin and Hale be able to survive long enough to find the location and unmask a high ranking Silk Road member without their covers being blown? And what other forces might be protecting the site of Ophir, ensuring that its location and treasures remain safely hidden from the world?

4.5 Stars

Anna Hackett is an extremely talented writer and Stella Bloom does a very good job of bringing this book to life. I took off "one-half star" because, I felt the editing of the recording was a bit off at times-- mostly not leaving enough space. Overall, this book is amazing and Ms. Bloom's interpretation amazed me with her many different voices and accents.

An exciting entry in the Treasure Hunter Security world!

Hale Carter works for Treasure Hunter Security and Elin Alexander is an FBI agent. They have a mission in the Kalahari Desert in Africa, and Hale is there to provide backup for Elin, who has been working undercover for Silk Road. She’s infiltrated their ranks and wants to stop them for good. Years ago, they killed her mother, and she’s been trying to stop them ever since. Hale is fighting demons of his own, since he was captured and his SEAL team was killed, leaving him as the only survivor. They start this mission and slowly figure out what they are hunting for, as it’s all been secret until now. There’s plenty of action of the dangerous variety as well as of the sexy variety. Hale and Elin are attracted to each other, but have to learn to trust each other as well...especially after they get in a very dangerous situation. Things eventually work out, but not before both protagonists get tested severely. The tension is thick in this one, and the action moves along at a fast pace. The recording is clear and well done for the most part, but there is some difficulty accepting and believing in the voice of Hale. Once the listener gets past that, the story flows well and is very enjoyable.
